From linked article above:

Michael Vick has a new job and is playing football again. The money is not quite the same and the records of the players are a bit different, too.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank has been communicating by letter with Vick, who is at the United States Penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., incarcerated at the facility's minimum security satellite prison camp.

Blank told the Daily News that Vick writes that he is washing pots and pans for 12 cents an hour. He was sentenced to 23 months in December after pleading guilty to federal dogfighting charges.

And in a scene straight out of the Longest Yard, Blank says Vick is playing football at Leavenworth. That's one way to pass his time and keep his arm loose. He's likely the first player picked when the inmates are choosing up sides or the guards are choosing up sides for them. Vick's sprinter speed surely comes in handy just in case a dog-loving inmate thinks it's cool to sack an NFL quarterback and break his shoulder

I have a few questions.

Is the team he plays on in prison, called the Mean Machine?

Does anybody call him Pit Bull? If not, does he have a cool prison yard nick name? How about "T Bone" or perhaps "Huggy Bear" because that's a classic that never goes out of style. I got it, maybe "Pookie" or "The Poodle"? That would be cool.;)

Will he redeem himself and show the warden (who is hell bent on winning the prison football championship), that he can't be bought with a lesser sentence?

Will he form friendships in prison and teach these men how to play as a team?

Will he lead his rag tag team of violent prison inmates to glory by pulling an upset and show them by playing with honor and guts, is a form of nobility? Can he turn his life around in the process?

Man, think about it. This would make a great movie and perhaps Disney should look into this. They could call it "The Leavenworth Redemption"

I think I'll send this to Disney and bring it to their attention.;)

He's not sorry for his bad choices . . . he's sorry he got caught.

As far as I am concerned, he should be thrown against a wall, electrocuted and beaten to smithereens. Hey, he thought that was OK for the dogs at his place, right? For me, 23 months was far too lenient.

So no, I would not promote any movie, especially anything with the word "redemption" in it, that supports this loser or his ego.

disneyaggie, I was making a satirical jab at the fact that Mike Vick is on a prison football team and was referring to the classic 1971 movie The Longest Yard. I'm talking about the original film which is a classic and not the lame remake staring Adam Sandler. TLY is a classic sports movie and IMO, one of the best sport films ever made.

The reference to playing the prison guards and the name of the inmate's team being called the Mean Machine, was in tribute to the movie. Same with the lines about learning to play as a team and finding a form of redemption and self worth at the same time. That's what Paul Crew, the lead character in the movie, does. I expect nothing of this nature will ever happen to Micheal Vick and my guess is he still will be a selfish thug long after leaving prison. The tittle of the spoof movie I proposed "The Leavenworth Redemption" was a take off of "The Shawshank Redemption" and meant as humor. Same with the idea of Disney actually making a film about a pro athlete who goes to jail for dog fighting. Just trying to add some humor to these boards and no offense was meant or intended. As a animal lover myself, I think Micheal Vick is scum and I take great delight in the fact he went to jail, but not a long enough sentence for me. Him playing football in prison isn't too cool either, IMO. I hope my post clears things up.

Yeah, I figured as much (you little stinker, you!). But the animal abuse Vick allowed at his property was just too sickening to not respond! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you responded and see what I was trying to do. Please don't ever think that I would condone what that monster and his buddies did. It was horrible and even though I made a joke about him being in prison, I'm still uncomfortable about what he did that put him there.
