Michael Moore ?

I was just wondering I saw Michael Moore(on) on the Today show a couple of days ago. He kept referring the USA as "our country" but he had a" Made in Canada" hat on. I had been under the impression he was a Canadian. I was wondering , is he a US citizen? If not he has no right referring to USA as "OUR country".

Michael Moore was born in the USA and is a citizen of same. If I'm not mistaken he is also an Eagle Scout.

He just hates American and everything it stands for. He hates Free Speech...well others Free Speech not his....he hates our capitalistic society...well except when it makes him a Millionaire movie maker. He hates the way American companies see work to other countries...well except when it comes to his website which is done by a Canadian company. He hate Americans military might...well he likes the freedoms it provides him to spew he lies.

I was shocked to find that he does business with Canadians!! Yikes, I had no idea he was THAT evil!! I'm sure he could have found a webmaster in the new republic of Iraq or, better yet, Saudi Arabia. Maybe that would have been more patriotic of him, no?

Don't ya just love those people who hate everything that has to do with USA, BUT continue to live here. He may be an Eagle Scout but he looks more like he belongs to the porcine family. Maybe he will donate all the "dinero" he gets from this movie to the Scouts just to demonstrate how truly selfless he is. Yeah, and pigs will fly too!

I know ...you would think that after shooting his blowhole off about sending jobs to other countries he would not do the same. I guess he is one of those "do as I say people". You know like how he hates corporate American except when it can make him millions of dollars.

Since you are the other voice of reason on this thread I am addressing my comments to you.

Do you think his next project will be an expose of Weight Watchers and/or Bath and Body stores? I mean it is pretty obvious he hates them too. Sorry to all you MM supporters I KNOW I am aruging to the man and not the issue but lets just say his stand on the issues have already been addressed. He is the absolute hypocrite.
I have a perfect job for him. Since he is American born he can be the new JFK's running mate! They are perfect for each other. If our history with presidents whose initials are JFK holds true, certainly the vice president should be some one who is not taken with vainity and I will give MM that much. NO ONE can call him vain. I do not think he has a drop of Botox in his body. He is the male version of the overweight girl who knows she is not pretty so she becomes an activist in order for people to notice her. If he had a sense of humor he could be the next John Belushi, John Candy, or Chris Farley.

Bella I read yesterday that he next project would be some sort of piece on a land owner who wants to cut down trees on his property and they are fighting him....Seems this "land owner" I have no idea who he is...owns quite a bit of land...so much that Moore said it should be "Illegal" for one person to own that much land. ( Yeah he loves American) and he and a friend were going to make a movie about it. I'm sure that is a small potatoes project though...who knows what his next big lie fest will be.

I once heard that the greatest respect one may ever pay to another is to hate; it shows that the hated is sinking into every facet of the mind and has sunk it's ideals into every available place. As much as this may be true, it may be why Disney washed it's hands at him - he has just not got the "right" kind of respect for ever so many things and by that I mean the kind of respect you can slap a PG-13 certificate on and export to Europe.

You can hate and respect your country. It's just not widely advertised.

He's also "for the small guy" except when it comes to his book tour, where he required small indie bookshops to order a minimum of 1000 copies in some places, and then did not show up.

Wow. You're skills at debate are second to none! Not once have you referenced a quote from the despicable Mr. Moore. You've filled your posts with your opinions and assume everyone will accept them as fact. Fortunately Mr. Moore does better research than you and, in fact, presents the words and actions of his subjects so that the audience can decide who is right or wrong.

Of course, you let your true colors bleed through when you and your cohort repeatedly bash him for being overweight. What that has to do with any argument about his patriotism is beyond me. I suspect there are many patriotic overweight Amercians. Resorting to this type of argument is really very immature, no?

And speaking of indisputable facts, please cite your references for this one:

This thread is way too long already. It started because someone questioned Moore's nationality based on the baseball cap he was wearing. I'm now suspecting that poster was indeed a troll since that fact could have easily been checked with Google. I don't usually fall into the 'troll feeder' category and I'm sorry I did this time. That said it is time to punch out of this thread for good!

Some people think that Moore is short for moron, some think he is nothing short of a sage. Whichever he is, he has drawn large audiences so he isn't without support; maybe we'd best leave it at that.

there is something called the silent majority. in silence there is strength. silence can remove this mans power. controversy has made the guy what he is and that has been his plan all along. however, we live under a wonderful system called a democracy, he has a right to speak, so let him speak....if we dont agree with him then we can ignore him. dont pay for his books and dont pay to see his movie if you dont agree with him. let him get some missed meal cramps then we'll see how committed to his cause he is.

on the other hand walking the way of a sheep without questioning your destination can lead to serious problems. its not always a bad thing to question authority just to keep it in check.
and no i havent seen nor read either the book or movie. just not interested. i choose instead to support the troops who proudly serve with honor... bad politics or no.
