Michael Jackson Tribute Thread (MJ Lovers Only no Haters PLEASE)

I havent been on here to rant in a few days, so this is old stuff, but I still need to rant it out :)

The Jackson family was mad that they were not invited to perform at the grammys??? Well maybe thats because this was about MICHAEL GETTING AN AWARD and not about trying to re-pump the other Jackson brothers careers.

I dont know about those other brothers, but Jermaine seems ready to pass out business cards whenever he can. Like father like son maybe? :confused3

I agree, it wasn't about the rest of the family, it was about MICHAEL. Also those people that complain no one else was invited, they forget 3 of Michael's nephews were there too.

I heard Janet will be digitally inserted (or something like that) to do MJ's part.
Granted the girl can sing... but hers is not the voice I want to hear either.

It would be cool if they inserted his voice and his image!
:thumbsup2

I agree. I share Robin's sentiments too, without Michael's voice on that song I won't be buying it. I feel it's a complete disrespect to Michael and Quincy Jones should be ashamed of himself for not including Michael's voice in it. I am very disappointed.

Thanks for agreeing with me.
It will be really disheartening to listen to the track and not hear his voice. I am sure Quincy is aware of how many Michael Jackson fans are out there, and how much it would offend them to not use his voice on the track. He COWROTE the song. It just makes me so angry to see such a blatant act of foolishness.
I dont see the difference between writing here everyday with friends... and we have become friends both on and off this board by the way.... between that and reading here everyday. :confused3 LOTS of people read this forum every single day. And a few have proven that they are simply reading it to then go to other threads to bash. Tell me... which ones are in need of the therapy? :confused3

Thank you for the concern though as you really seem to be a decent person... and we know Robin who qouted you is cool. If you only knew the kind of crap we've put up with..... people can not live and let live.

I want you guys to read some of the questions that were submitted to me via anonymous people on formspring.
here is my page, I thought I answered them fairly, but people's comments made me so hurt and angry. To think this is what Michael had to deal with everyday... :sad1:

Just one of the questions that tore my heart to pieces.
Question:
you can change your backround all you want, michael jackson has been, is, and always will be ugly there is not an angle that could make him look good and he paid all the jury off there is no way all those children claimed the SAME thing so shut your mouth

Answer:
Wow. Just wow.
He is a beautiful person inside and out.
People will do anything for money, and jerks like you should know that.

Well this person is obviously blind or stupid... and very possibly both.

And what I find hilarious is that they think their hate will make us hate. How stupid! It just makes all his millions of fans all the stronger, and makes his sales go all the higher, and makes it 100% fact that his genius will never die.

These idiots are helping us to keep him alive!!! We should thank them all!!:rotfl: (Im sure the MJ estate wants to thank them, too!:rotfl2:)

It hurt to read, but I felt so proud to stand up for him. The hate does make us stronger, even more united. I guess they do provide a purpose, to strengthen the love we have for a musical legend, loving father, and wonderful person.

It really does make us stronger and makes us fight that much harder for him. We are very loyal to him and we always will be.

While I am not a super MJ fan, I wanted to pop in to say that DH and I rented "This Is It" this past weekend and while watching it, I found myself very emotional. First off, I was positively impressed that at age 50, Michael was still able to do th things he did on stage. He looked great, though I could see (in hindsight) why he was probably so stressed out. That production was huge! He put it all out there even in rehearsal.

I was really just amazed at the sheer volume of music he has done that has become such an integral part of the culture of music. Every son had me going "i LOVE this song", even though I hadn't heard it in years.

A huge loss. the show would have been amazing. Michael was putting EVERYTHING he had into it...literally.

My 3-yr old loves MJ! My mom even bought her the boxed set QVC was selling of his videos for Christmas.:santa:

I use to really like jermaine before... but now he just getting on my nerves i dont think the other brothers are like that or at least they dont seem like that..
have you guys seen jermaines wife ? shes a yoko ono in training.:lmao:

Exactly!!! If we want to keep his spirit alive we will. It's our tribute thread and when this one is full we will make a 2nd one. Obviously there are many people out there besides us that love MJ, just look at all the attention he has gotten since June 25th. It's all over the internet and still in the news. There will never be another person like him. He is missed by many, many people. If people are reading this thread and not posting then that proves they are curious about him too or they wouldn't even open it begin with. :rolleyes1

Amen! :worship:

Awww! he get new fans every day! and they get younger and younger!

my daughter is an MJ fan too!

funny story:

the other day, i'm sitting on the couch watching TV before school, my DD (age 12) is getting ready. she walks through the living room to the laundry room, looking for a pair of socks (she is responsible for folding laundry, and hadn't done it) and she's listening to her mp3 player. when she walks back through, she stops in front of the tv, turns to me and says "for no mere mortal can resist, the evil of the thriller" then throws her head back and does the vincent price laugh. i busted out laughing and said "go get your socks and shoes on, silly girl" and she said "i know, i'm a hoot, aren't i?" :lmao:

Dearest Michael,

Last week I made a pilgrimage to your birthplace, Gary, Indiana. I stood inside your family’s modest three-bedroom home on 2300 Jackson Street. I felt the magic. It started there, nine kids plus your parents, jam packed, livin’ on top of each other pursuing The American Dream. For this alone 2300 Jackson should be declared a National Landmark. One has to go back to the beginning to clearly see the entire journey. Gary, Steel town, Midwest, blue collar, hard workin’, hard livin’, great work ethic and simple basic values. It’s there early where you learned ‘you had to sing and dance like your life depended on it’ which it did. You and your family made the dream a reality. But as we all finally learn (sooner or later) dreams have costs and costs have consequences. I truly cherish the short time we worked together, visiting my home in Brooklyn, huggin’ and kissin’ my newborn daughter Satchel, as if she was your own daughter, our fantastic journey to Brazil to shoot the video for ‘THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT US.’ I regret never getting to inform you that our video was directly responsible for the great film CITY OF GOD being conceived and made. Michael, your life touched people the world over you will never know. Michael, I’m one year older than you, we grew up together. I had my Afro just like you. I wanted to be like you. Wanted the cute girls to fawn over me the way they did you (the girls were not going for it. They’d rather make goo-goo eyes at your pictures plastered all over their bedroom.) At that young age I had no notion of what I wanted to do in my life. You made me see the possibilities even though I could not sing or dance a lick despite coming from a musical family. You, Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon showed us the way. You guys were young Black boys like us. Upon us was a new day, a new world and it’s on us to make the most of it. In closing Michael, you checked out of here way, way too soon but while you walked this earth in your physical form you changed it. You changed the World, changed the Game forever.

May you rest eternally in Peace.

Love,

Spike Lee

P.S. Brooklyn luvs ya!

I know! He was really going to give us an awesome show.
I LOVE that 3D Thriller. Wow!

Thanks for posting.

Hey do you guys remember me? The one who COULDNT WAIT ONE DAY to get This is It in the mail so I HAD to buy it THAT DAY?

I have not watched it yet.
:sad2:

I watched the "extras" and just can not bring myself to watch the movie....

Every night my husband asks " Are we watching it yet?"
And I say "Not yet."
