What a terrific author, from the Andromeda Strain to Jurassic Park, I loved his books. The most recent I read was State of Fear, a great read.

Our entire family, especially DS20, has enjoyed books by Michael Crichton; mainly "Timeline" (the book, NOT the movie).

We had no idea that he was battling cancer.

I started a thread earlier, but let me state again how shocked I was to hear this. I am a big fan of his books- gosh, I've prolly read "Jurassic Park" 20 times. I'll miss him.

I was so saddened to hear this - no idea he had cancer either. Seeing Jurassic Park in theaters when I was 10 blew my mind - I saw it twice, bought the t-shirt and read the book over and over until the pages were ripped and worn. What a smart and prolific man - a great loss.

Jurassic Park was one of the best books I have ever read. It really is great, and I enjoyed his movies. Did or does he have any shows on TV? For some reason I thought that he did, but I could be wrong. I didn't know he had cancer either, until I read about it earlier today. So sad, doesn't 66 seem so young now? His work will be missed by many.

I loved his writing. our 1st movie to fall in love with was the andromeda strain.
I am sooooo shocked & saddened to hear this news. I rarely am affected emotionally by celebs passings, but this one has had me in major tears since I heard.

when we were on one of the film sites for jurassic park, we just yelled "yeaaa Michael"
