I know there are risks to what we are doing but we have trip insurance and are doing this anyway, but am hoping there is someone here who has experience and can give me some ideas on transportation.

We are going to be debarking the Carnival Vista on 6/11/17 at the port of Miami and need to get to PC to embark the Disney Dream on the same day. We're flying in from AZ so don't have our own vehicle. My original thought was to rent a car in Miami and drive it to PC, but thought I'd check here to see if anyone else has done something this stupid before and if there is a better option.

There was a poster not too long ago (sorry can't recall the specifics) that was going from PC to Miami between cruises on the same day.

It's certainly do-able, but I'd suggest getting a rental car. There is at least one (not so good) shuttle service that I've read of between Miami and PC, but I wouldn't do that. It might even be worth your while to go ahead and get the rental car before the Miami cruise, so that it's ready and waiting for you when you debark in Miami (and do that as early as you can).

It's about a 4 hour drive to PC from Miami. What are your travel plans after the Dream cruise? Back to Miami to catch the plane?

We'll probably do DCL shuttle to MCO after the cruise. Luckily the 11th is a Sunday so traffic shouldn't be horrendous. I'll try to search for the other post and thanks for the idea about renting the car for the week ahead of time, I'll look into that as well.

P.S. I knew I could count on you for this!

We took a 5 night cruise on the Magic out of Miami in January and then drove up to spend a few nights at Disney after. We were checking into our hotel by 2 and that was with a short stop for lunch. We also had the early breakfast the morning of debark and didn't rush through it either. We did as Shmoo suggested to you and had a rental car in the garage already so didn't have to spend time getting it and I highly recommend doing that as well. If your still at all worried about getting there on time then you can just self debark in the morning and carry all your bags off yourself as well saving some more time there as well. But I think it's definitely doable and see myself trying it at some point too.

Its a 3 hour drive with no traffic. I do not know of any alternative with that time frame other than a rental car. If it were me, I would take the turnpike to Fort Pierce and then I95 the rest of the way. The turnpike and I95 are about 1 mile apart in Fort Pierce. After that, they start to diverge greatly. I95 is not too bad from there either.

We did a cruise out of Miami on the NCL Pearl in March. When we disembarked there were a large number of shuttles waiting, we took one (cost $10) to MIA and picked up a rental car. We were on the road before 9 and checked in at the Polynesian by 12:30.

That was me, doing WDW for 3 days, Wonder for 3 Days and then Magic for 5 days. We ended up making a reservation with Budget due to their close proximity in both ports and shuttles from then to ships. I would never do this normally however due to business travel and our great desire to check out the re-imagined Wonder we are squeezing in extra cruise. We have been scheduled on the Magic with a group for some time so that was not movable and picking up this business trip seemed like something we wanted to do since travel to and from MN would be no cost to us.

So, everything I have looked at says it is possible. We are going from DCL to DCL so feel a bit better then if changing lines. Rental car company told us no problem, local limo service told us we would have plenty of time and people in Ft Lauderdale also tell us no problem, note however we are doing it on a Sunday when there is little traffic. Going DCL to DCL gives us 8 hours from scheduled disembarkation to all aboard, even if Wonder is 2 hours late, still have 2 hour cushion. Good luck and think of it as an adventure.
