MGM-Umbrella on NY Street?

Hi guys!

We'd heard before our first trip last Dec that somewhere on NY street there is an umbrella that rains (or something like that) a nod to Singin in the Rain...DDs and I spent forever wandering aimlessly up and down NY street and never found it. Does anyone have any pics? Can someone tell me where it is? Thanks much.

Hmm how to describe it - kind of behind NYC street. Think of it as the far left corner of the streets facing LMA. There are pictures on this board someplace.

Its at the end of New york street where the Power Rangers do their autograph session along the back of the Muppet Theater in this map.

Well, for Osborne they actually put lights on it to make it stand out more... The drought conditions in the area right now may be why it isn't working all the time. Hopefully with more rain, they will turn it back on.

I have many pictures of myself or another family memeber standing under that umbrella. In all my trips there I have never seen it rain.

We were at WDW last summer and we had read on these boards about the umbrella. So we went and found it and it worked fine for us. You have to stand on the little black platform underneath the umbrella to get the rain effect.

Does it come from real rain??? If it does, then there's your answer. It rains a lot in the summer, so that's probably why we had no problem with it, but we will check this summer when we go. Hopefully it still works, I found it to be quite funny, especially the way my family posed under it. I laugh so hard every time I look at those pictures again, .
