Good news guys...we were at H&V 3/4 and got some updated information on the MGM character dining situation. The waitress that was assigned to our table was great, and full of conversation. Since she seemed to be on top of it, I asked her if there was any new information on the TOy Story character dining. She told me that she was just at a meeting 2 days before, and she was told that its just legalites that was holding up the start date. Since she only had 8 years on with Disney, she was surprised to now that she would be working at this particular location. She said that Disney & Pixar are just ironing out the specifics, but there will be a breakfast and lunch character dining. Toy Story is the theme, and it will indeed start in the mid-to-end of June. This came right from a future cast menber there-so congrats to all that will be able to take a part in this new opening. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update! That's pretty much what we've been hearing, although I doubt the part about Dinsey/Pixar. I think it's more a "union" issue with the actors that they hired, but whatever the reason, I am still bummed it's not until June! Oh well, at least I will get to go in October.

Bummed it's not starting 'till June; we're going the end of May. Well, just have to start planning the next trip :thumbsup2 .

Thanks for the update. Now if we could just find out when they start taking ADRs. I really want to do this in August. :bitelip:

I know these rumors about A Toy Story Character Meal has been around these boards for Years.

Maybe it finally going to occur, sadly it going to be at the one restaurant that I put at the very bottom of all my Disney Restaurants. I find the food here to be on the low-end of cafeteria food.

Once for breakfast and once for dinner. The dinner being more harrowing then the breakfast.

Oh boy! Even my teenage DSs will be crazy happy over this one. Both Toy Story movies have been family favorites since they were released.

As for the H & V food, we found that dinner was quite good. We generally avoid buffets but wanted to do the Fantasmic package and it was the only restaurant left.

Thanks for the breaking news! :goodvibes

H&V isn't gourmet by any means but, have always thought the food was fresh and well above the usual buffet quality (on or off-site). Lots of the same items as Chef Mickey's.

We're big on buffets...DH & sons are very limited/picky eaters. Always works out well for us, especially when my older DS's were teenagers - they did come away full.

My only gripe is the mess that people, especially unattended small children make.

Tha's great news! Thank you so much for sharing. We are going in October :cool1:

We'll be looking forward to this character meal eventhough we have a dd. She loves Buzz. Thanks for asking about the meal and sharing with us on the Dis board.

I left a space open on our second MGM day for a Toy Story Meal. Hope we'll be able to make ADRs soon for our July trip.

Thanks for breaking the news - from one "Jersey girl" to another!

Bummer, we are going the first part of June. I sure hope she was wrong with the dates, my boys would love this.
