Looking to get from MGM to Epcot midday for our rehitching ceremony at the Land's Garden Grill. Which choice would be the quickest: (1) bus from MGM to Epcot's front entrance or (2) boat to the Beach Club and enter Epcot through the World Showcase entrance and walk into Future World?

You might get differing opinions on this, but here's mine.....The boat ride is super; don't get off at the BC - continue to Gateway at Epcot - then it's a real nice walk...We much prefer this way as opposed to buses.......IMHO

We just did the MGM to Epcot (Gateway entrance) boat ride. It was beautiful. However, it does take a while as it makes stops at the Swan/Dolphin, Beach Club/Yacht Club and Boardwalk beforehand. I believe the captain took a rest break at the Boardwalk for at least 5 minutes before getting under way. However, once you get to the Gateway it is not a bad walk to the Land as it is only two countries and two future pavillions away.

I would boat to BC/YC and walk, it's faster than waiting for boat to go from BC/YC to Boardwalk to Epcot.

And if you are trying to do it when MGM closes, walking the whole way from MGM to the EPCOT International Gateway is the fastest way -- the lines for transportation really are so long that you can walk to EPCOT and be there long before you even get on a boat at MGM (unless you leave MGM early enough to beat the crowds).

Thanks for all the responses! I guess the boat is definitely the way to go. About how long is the boat ride from MGM to the Beach Club?

I remember one boat captain saying that the trip from the Swan/Dolphin was 8 minutes to MGM.

You can get off at the Swan/Dolphin and walk to Epcot. It took us less than 15 minutes to walk from that hotel to Epcot's International Gateway.

If you stay on the boat for the entire journey from MGM to Epcot, I would allow, at least, 45 minutes (remember, you may have to wait 20 minutes just for the boat to get to MGM if you "just miss one"). The walk from the International Gateway to The Land is probably another 10 minutes.

Have a grand time getting re-hitched!! :D

Just got back from the Dolphin!!

The Boat from MGM to Epcot is exactly 30 minutes. It's a great way to travel!!! You could walk it but I'm always up for saving my legs for the parks!!!;)

If the minimum boat ride we can expect is 30 minutes, how long is the bus ride from MGM to Epcot? :(

Anybody ever do the taxi route?;)

I took the bus between Epcot and MGM, and the ride itself is about 10 minutes. The total travel time depends on how long you have to wait for the bus.

If you want the fastest way and no stops, waits or surprises, walk. I regularly made the walk from MGM to Epcot in about 25 minutes. Unless you catch a boat that's just about to leave MGM, you'll get there faster if you walk.

Boat with all its stops (S/D. YC/BC, BW, and then Epcot) is about 30 minutes; bus about 10. You are closer to the Land from the front entrance (by bus) than the International Gateway entrance(by boat), although the difference is not great. Boat trip can be shortened significantly--take it only to S/D and get off and cross bridge right near the S/D dock to BW and then walk to Epcot from BW; that total trip takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

I loved the boat. I don't know if it was the quickest way to do it, but there was a nice breeze, and it was great to rest and even take a quick nap.
