We are driving to MGM for the day, but then want to head over to Epcot (France) for dinner and IllumiNations. I'd love to get Grandma and the kids in through the international gateway to cut down on their walking, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. I'd love some advice!

Thanks :sunny:

This is a very easy thing. When you leave MGM, bear left to the boat dock. Catch the next Friendship, which run about every 15 minutes, to first the Swan/Dolphin, next the Beach/Yacht Clubs, the Boardwalk Inn, then to Epcot's International Gateway! Easy! It takes about 25-30 minutes of pleasant boating.

Sorry, I forgot about the return trip. The Friendships run for one hour after park closing, so after Illuminations, you might want to kill a little time to avoid the crush. Then, you can exit through the IG and head for the boat dock to catch the next Friendship to Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach, Swan/Dolphin and finally to MGM, where you can get your car even if the park has closed.
If you are feeling ambitious, you can walk to any of the resorts and catch the boat there. It's a lovely stroll if everyone is up to it.
Have Fun! :sunny:

Yes, just ride the boat over from MGM, show a valid ticket, scan your fingers and walk right in. :thumbsup2

I think, though, that unless you plan on starting very early, you may be better off parking at Epcot, if that's where you're going to end up, and then starting your day by trekking over to D-MGM.

Sorry, but I'm not sure, so I'd better ask. Do you have to get off the boats or switch boats on the way over? Or do you just ride the same boat the whole way?

Thanks Again!

You stay on the boat, it will just stop at the resorts.

You do not have to get off the boat or change boats on the trip. The boats make a circuit which includes 4 stops. MGM, the Swan/Dolphin, the Boardwalk and Epcot's International Gateway. Just reverse the stops for the trip back to MGM.
It is a pleasant boat ride and you will get a view of the Boardwalk area.
As another poster said, the entire trip will take about 30 minutes, so plan your ADR's accordingly.

is if you have a non hopping ticket you can not visit 2 parks in one day. Hopping and AP's your plan can work. Thought I'ld just bring that up.
