Last time I was at MGM, I was lucky enough to see the mayor and his "entourage" walking and talking; also in one of the stores, sitting in the corner, was the funniest character (can't remember her name). I think I could spend a whole day at MGM, just strolling the main street, hoping to run into some of those characters. Just wondering-how often are they out? Was it a rare occassion to see the Streetmosphere characters on 2 occassions? Is there any way to predict their coming? Unfortunately, they don't have any schedule on Steve Soars site.

I'm sure there is a schedule somewhere, but they are out at various times during the day, and with varying characters. My favorites are the Hedda Hopper-type character with the sunglasses, and notepad, and the very very chubby Shirley Temple "lookalike" with the polka dot dress. They are very funny. Also, the truck the rumbles down the street with the "city workers" on it, some are carrying toilet plungers, and they wear hard hats. Most people don't even pay them any attention, but they are a riot. Be warned: if any of these characters spot you and start talking to you, run as fast as you can in the other direction!!! They have been known to draw crowds and turn you into a complete fool!!! All in fun, though. :jester:

I dont think they appear as often as they used to but they are sooo worth watching!

We've seen them perform a spelling bee while waiting for the Stars and Motor Cars Parade. Hilarious. The diva-type one squeezed in between my fiance and me on the sidewalk and proceeded to flirt with him the entire time. We love to watch them and it's even better when you're part of the show.

A few years ago my then 5yr old ds was selected to be the contestant in the spelling bee. It was a riot. Those characters are a hoot and we look for them each trip now.

My youngest son had an absolute ball being the spelling bee contestant a couple years ago. I'm not sure how often they do that one, but it's always late afternoon.

Earlier in the morning, you are more likely to see hollywood tourists near the main entrance. In the afternoon you are more likely to see the citizens of hollywood in various groups and skits all along Hollywood and Sunset Blvds.
