okay, so we will visit MGM. Was not sure at first, but you folks said try, it will be fun. Been reading the Unoffical book, but can not get a strategy together. We will be there for the opening, but will not be doing the Tot or the coaster. anything else is fine. Where should we start. I think I would like to see Belle and Friends , but i read somewhere that shows overlap times, and just how much of this backlot tour do you see?
any advice wouold be helpfull. :confused3
78 days- will I make it???????

I believe, correct me if I am wrong, but the only other attraction open besides Tot RnR is the Great Movie Ride.

You should get a show schedule upon entering and plan which shows you want to see.

There is Fast Pass for the Indy Show. Lights Motor and stunts have only one show in the am and 2 in the afternoon.

good luck

If you want to do a lot of the shows I would get a times guide when you get in the park and choose which times you are going to see each of the shows. Then while your waiting for shows you can hit other things like GMR, Star Tours and Muppets. Don't forget that some of the shows like the Millionaire play it attraction have limited seating so if you want to do that be sure to get in line early.
MGM is by far one of my favorite parks, I'm sure you'll have a blast!
Edit: I forgot about backlot tour. I haven't been on it since they put in the new stunt show back there, but I was in line for it last time when they warned us several times about the fact that it would take a good hour to complete the tour so we needed to check adr's and make sure we could do that. We ended up getting out of line to do the stunt show.

I think he meant they'd be there at the normal park opening, not the early entry opening. If it IS EE you're talking about, then yes, the only things open for you do would be: Studios Backlot Tour, Muppet*Vision 3-D, and Star Tours.

If you're there at normal park opening, I would head straight for the Great Movie Ride, do that, then walk over to Star Tours and Indiana Jones, fastpass one and do the other while you wait to use the fastpass. Then walk down to the Backlot tour, and Muppets 3D. Depending on how you time it, a showing of Lights, Motors, Action! may be starting soon, so go see that as well. You'll have to check show times when you get to the park to confirm.

ToT and Rockin Rollercoaster are the major E-tickets at MGM, so if you won't be doing those, you'll probably be spending little time in lines. Beauty and the Beast is a theater show, and those are not generally hard to get into, same for Indiana Jones. The car stunt show might be harder to see, since it's new, but the theater is huge so I doubt you'd have problems.

I'd walk along Mickey Avenue, do Millionaire if you want, then into Animation Courtyard and anything there as well. I've never done any of the things in Animation Courtyard, so I can't tell you what they're like. I'd finish up at Beauty and the Beast Live. You'll probably still have a lot of the day left... I like to park hop on the boat to Epcot, do some stuff there, then head back to MGM and arrive about an hour before Fantasmic, and do that.

We were like Btuftee and spent a morning at MGM, hit Epcot and went back for Fantasmic. I had a very hard time figuring out our schedule because I wanted it all planned out in advance. I found this website that has the weekly show calendar on it...http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/index.htm Schedules change from week-to-week, but not that much, so you can pretty much use this to plan your day. Hope it helps you.

I believe you said you have Unofficial Guide? Just pick one of the plans and go in the order it states. If there is something you don't want to do (aka Tower of Terror) then just skip that step and go to the next. :sunny:

I'm not sure it's real good advice to wait until you arrive at the Studios to pick up a show times guide. It would be, in my opinion, a bit difficult to make a workable plan on the move. But it is really necessary to have a plan in place before going to the Studios, especially since that particular park is very long on shows, and short on rides.

Check out the Steve Soares site, as someone advised earlier in this thread, plan your show opening times ahead of time, make meal reservations to fit your plan, and enjoy this wonderful park. With a good plan in mind ahead of time, you can't miss.

Enjoy.

Don't forget to see Drew Carey. We love that one. It is VERY dark so if you are travelling with kids that are afraid of the dark then I don't recommend it.

I would start out with Great Movie Ride, Star Tours and then Voyage of the Little Mermaid should be running by then. If not, throw in Muppetvision and try again.
