I read in UG today that the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set" is only for children ages 4 and up. Since my children will be 4.5 and 2.5 during our trip in December, this concerns me.

Has anyone else observed this or seen it enforced? Do you think that it could be too much for a 2.5 yo girl who is about 36" and 24 lbs. (my DD is an itty bitty).

I'd appreciate your insight.

Thanks!

I don't know if there is an age limit, but the cm didn't stop me from bringing in my 2 & 3 yo. I never saw an age limit posted either. My kids didn't like it and I was a nervous wreck the entire time we were in there. There are too many hiding places and I had a hard time keeping up where both of them were. Plus, one time my 3 yo came screaming and crying like a ghost was after him. he had gone up some steps and as you go up you hear a noise like heavy breathing that gets louder as you get up the steps. It scared him to death. It is not a spot we will be visiting in Nov.

I never knew this and the CMs never said anything to us when we entered. :confused3

We have been going in there since my son was 15 months. On the bigger slide where you come sliding out of the film cannister, we went down together. He easily did the smaller slides by himself. My daughter did it for the first time last year (at age 2). She is really petite and handled the smaller slides by herself fine. My husband and I each take a child and just follow them EVERYWHERE. We are not more than a foot away from them and just do whatever they do. There are some things that a little one probably shouldn't to (that big net climb or whatever it is), but I think there is so much a little one can do.

Maybe the minimum age thing is new? We didn't get over there on our last trip. :sad2:

I didn't realize there was an age limit either. Last year my 6/3/2yearolds played there for over an hour...and had a great time. :goodvibes

Wow I didn't know there was ever an age limit! I took Erich when he was under 2...it's been a while... he's 12 now! He LOVED it! I did keep a super close eye on him. There use to be one area with a smaller slide for the really tiny tots.

Here's the info along with some pictures we have here at the DIS about the play area.http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/mgm/st-playground.htm

I remember there being a 'toddler' type area in the playground - a really tiny slide, easy access tunnels, some stepping spots that made noise, etc. Definitely not an area for kids bigger than 3 or so...

We took our kids in January DDwas 4.5 and DS turned 2 on our trip. DS was really little on the playground and DH had to go down the slide with him. He was not much of a climber then and he had a hard timeon some things, but wanted to do what his sister did. We stayed close by because there were some really rowdy older kids- just like at any play area. Try it and see how she does, but it really is made for bigger kids.

Took our kids when they were age 2 & 4 and the 4 yr old could do everything, although she got stuck in the rope cage-- another girl had to rescue her.

Our 2 yo couldn't do as much but she had a ball.

Thanks everyone for their responses. It is a big help! Both mine are monkeys (even the little one) and I think they'd enjoy this. Luckily we will have my sister with us too so our 3 adult to 2 child ratio will be a big help here!
