MGM Roving Performances...what a show!

On our last trip to WDW in January, we had the pleasure of seeing a couple of "roving" park acts in MGM...one was a young man, new to Hollywood and hoping to make it big named Frances. The other, an actor and director combo playing out a fencing scene in the street. What a treat for us to enjoy these roving performances. Are these timed events, and if so, how do you find out the times and locations?

They are called Streetmosphere! MGM IMHO has the best streetmosphere of any of the parks. I love the Hollywood charchters they have. I don't know if they have an actual schedule, but you might check out Steve Soares site:

Yes, that's what I mean...streetmosphere, hmmm. I went to Steve Soares and he makes mention of them, but no schedule. For us, that was the biggest benefit of visiting the parks in the cooler weather...no need to run back to the pools in the afternoon, and afternoon is when we saw most of the performances.

We love the street performers too, and I've never seen a schedule for them...we love running into Mulch, Sweat, and Sheers, usually around the Streets of America...they are a band and play rock music, mostly Kiss and Queen and the like...and they are always good for a laugh..but every time we ask if they have a specific time to play, we always get a shrug and are told to check back in a half an hour...but it's always a pleasure to stop and giggle...

I've never seen a schedule either, but love to watch. They picked on my DH in a little skit last time we were there, and it was hilarious (Who let the dogs out, performed by bystanders from 3 to 75 years old with "faded starlet" Sophie Lipowitz)

They're the greatest thing about MGM. And MGM has some pretty great things. I even went to GS once to see if I could get their schedule, and GS couldn't help me. However, Francis (Floot) has dropped by these boards and made an excellent suggestion. Next time I go, go to GS and request that they PLEASE call and find out when the actors might be around. Also, I think it was he who said that they usually come out later in the day, not right at Park opening. And one time when it was very hot, one of the actors was in Sid Cahuenga's, holding court, showing off her family photos and smooching some tourists with her bright red lipstick. They're terrific!
