MGM Question

I have a question about when the rides close down at MGM. I noticed that last December, MGM officially "closed" at 7:00, but Fantasmic also started at 7:00, which means people are in the park until 7:30 or 8:00. Are the rides open while Fantasmic is being shown or doess everything close down promptly at 7:00?

It seems like I remember seeing a post some time ago about people riding Test Track in Epcot with almost no line while Illuminations was going on. Just wondering if you could do the same thing with MGM & Fantasmic.

Even though Fantasmic is listed at closing time, the rides still close at closing time. Many of the shops remain open past the listed closing time though.

I do believe they allow everyone in line before it closes (So if your in line at 6:59) to ride.

Rides will stop allowing folks to ride when the park closing time comes around. At this point, you must either leave the park or experience Fantasmic.

Thanks for the replies everyone! Guess I won't plan on getting in a few rounds on RNR or TOT while everyone's watching Fantasmic.

Even though it closes at 7, it's generally not too crowded (at least when I'm there) just before 7. Everyone is already in line or seated for Fantasmic!

One year my family was the last to get through to ride TOT one last time before leaving and by the time we walked inside and got in line for the elevators there was no one left but us in the boiler room. Talk about being scared! We were the only family in the elevator and my youngest wanted no part of it. When the CM asked us if we were sure we wanted to depart my DD jumped up and I pulled her back down beside me and said she was going with us! The CM smirked and closed the door and the rest is history. We bought that picture of course!
