We (DW 28, DS 9, DD 4, and me 29) will be arriving in Orlando midday on Saturday Oct. 1st. Our plans for the week are:

S ?
S MK
M AK
T Epcot
W MGM
R MK

We plan to attend a park on Saturday afternoon but cannot decide between Epcot or MGM. We have been to WDW twice in the past 4 years. We have only spent half a day at Epcot vs. 2 days at MGM because we thought the kids would not enjoy it as much.

What do you recommend...Epcot or MGM? :confused3

P.S. I made a PS for Rose and Crown for 8 PM just in case.

Epcot. First it is bigger and takes longer to traverse. It has some great rides (Mission Space, Test Track) and some great attractions for kids (candy woman in Japan, Turtle Talk in Living Seas). Our kids love it. MGM can much easier be done in a day. I'd do Future World one morning and start on World Showcase and then finish World Showcase another evening. Also, going between Epcot and MGM is easy, should you want to sample both in a day. Just get on the boat at one and ride it around to the other. The boats go Epcot -> hotels -> MGM -> hotels -> Epcot

I'd tend to agree, but I would also suggest checking the scedule of special events. EPCOT at least has some live music which is really cool. I don't know if they do similar things at MGM, but it's worth checking on the daily schedule flyer.

I was also going to say Epcot- not just because you've done MGM more than Epcot in the past but because it really takes more time to do it all/see it all at Epcot.
For the kids- make sure they do the kidcots all the way around the world- my kids really enjoyed that! I didn't even know about it our first trip but the next trip.. they had a blast. It is time consuming- especially if you're checking out all shows/etc. as you go around.. but they sure do enjoy it.

Do NOT miss Turtle Talk... you'll enjoy it too probably. I did! It's different every time too... so it's not a one time thing really. ;)

Another vote for Epcot. My kids love the Kidcot stations, too. We do them at least a couple of times each trip.

I would also vote for Epcot. DS just isn't all the impressed with MGM. They have a few shows that he likes, but there arent many rides geared toward little kids. Epcot has tons of fun for the kids.

Are you doing park hopper passes? If so, you could do MGM in the morning, take a break and then do Epcot in the evening.

Judging by the age of your kids, I'd advise for MGM. Personally, EPCOT is my favorite park, but I know it can be *less than fun* accompanied by a very bored 4 year old.

My vote is Epcot. I changed my itinerary this year to spend more time in Epcot this year than MGM. We found last year that we did not spend as much time in the lands (world showcase) as we wanted. We plan on spending a half a day at MGM using an afternoon/evening to get in the major attractions and see Fantasmic, which is arguably the best night show on site.

Note that the line is always long for Turtle Talk (as they have really no where to put it!), but most of the line is swallowed up by the theatre.

Epcot!

Several years ago, when just my husband and I went, we checked out MGM, but then two years ago, with the kids, we did everything (waterparks, MK, AK, Epcot) but MGM. Too much to do and too little time and we found on the first day that when we tried to do too much, the kids got crabby!

This trip we are going to do MGM but partly because we are not doing the waterparks (which are the best!) and partly because the kids have never been.

Next time we go, we will probably get the pass that includes waterparks and park hopping and we will be staying longer as well.
