Hello everybody I am very excited I will be at the world in just 8 days!! But I have a little problem and I need your opinions. I have a 6yr old daughter and a 2yr old son I really don't know which park is better for them AK or MGM we've done MK many times and epcot is always on my list but I'm debating on MGM or AK please help. :wizard:

We love both for kiddos...can't help you there, if we have to skip something with our 4 yo it is usually Epcot

I think there is alot more for your kids to probably do at AK.....the main reasons we go to MGM are for TOT and RNRC there is much more for them to see and do at AK. :wave2:

MGM has more theatre type shows so your child is sitting most of the time. Ak is more walking around and looking. They both have a playground, Ak in the dinosaur area and MGM all the way in the back, honey I shrunk the kids playground. Hard to actually say.

Fo Adults ; MGM Hands down: RRRC & TOT etc.

FOR KIDS: ANimal Kingdom Hands down.. esp if the LOVE THE Lion King. We spent all last trip at the AK with my little sister she kept trying to find SImba/ Timon.. etc.

I agree with previous poster. I'd probably choose AK.

MGM has the playhouse disney, little mermaid, and beauty and beast shows. There are also a few other things they would probably like (muppet 3-D movie) , but most everything there are "shows" with certain times and I found it a bit much to manipulate with my two boys when they were little.

AK also has shows, but also has some more rides for the kids. Their "tough to be a bug" 3-D movie is one of the best in the four parks. Also, there is the huge playground area in dinoland, the few kiddie rides there, and I think generally more for the kids to explore and do than at MGM.

IMHO, for little ones, I'd rank the four parks as follows:
1) MK (OF COURSE!)
2) AK
3) MGM
4) Epcot
Just my opinion, hope it helps. :earsgirl:

I'd go to MGM. They have shows for the kids, characters, shops and the great Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground. For some reason AK is our least favorite park. The only thing our daughter likes at AK is the dinosaur playground and refuses to do anything else.

My personal choice would be AK. I think MGM is more gearded for adults with the exception of the Beauty and the Beast and Mermaid show.

We took our first trip last year. The kids were 11, 8, and 4. Animal Kingdom was their favorite park. They could have spent the whole day in the Boneyard if we would have let them.

I vote for MGM. My son loves Playhouse Disney and visiting with JoJo and the Toy Story characters. Plus, the Monsters Inc characters.

The shows are also awesome!

AK is just soooo hot, hot, hot! This time around, we skipped AK and the only thing I really missed was not seeing the Lion King Festival. I love that show.

Still, I'd go for MGM. Another point...AK doesn't have many places to cool off. The gift shops tend to be little shops on the side of the road and not very cool. At MGM, there are tons of cool areas you can go in to get out of the heat.

:)

Since we hate AK, I would have to say MGM. With Playhouse Disney, Mermaid, Beauty and Beast, Great Movie Ride, and the playground, I think there is much more for kids to do there. Also, if mom and/or dad want to, there is TOT and RRC that you can ride. The street performers are great to watch also.

I love It's tough to be a Bug, but I think it is too scary for the little ones. And for me, my experience is ruined when 100 preschoolers and young ones are screaming and crying thru the whole show. The boneyard and stuff are great, but in the sun. Just too hot for me in June and July.

I agree with what everyone else is saying, I would do AK with kids that small. They are right, not much to do with kids that young.

i'd go with ak with a 2 yr old since lots at mgm would be baby swap or shows...thinking he might get restless( sorry ,hoping you said a boy) after a while with not as much kid stuff to look at along the way at mgm as at ak( like just "plain" buildings to a kid at mgm and not as much music or action )

I can't believe that most people are saying that there isn't much for a toddler at MGM. My son and I found tons of stuff that interested him. Hmmm....

We also enjoyed our long day at MGM. Both kids (DD 4 1/2 & DS 6 1/2) loved it. They liked all of the shows & DS liked Star Tours. We got to ride RNC too. We didn't even make it to the Honey I shrank the kids area. We all really enjoyed Fantasmic too.
