On our first day, we will be arriving around mid-day. We were thinking about going to MGM. I have tour plans for hitting the parks first thing in the morning, but I am not sure what rides to hit mid-day. Any reccomendations? I was thinking about the Motor Car Stunt show followed by Indiana Jones.

I would recommed the shows since the rides will have long lines by this time of the day.

We tried MGM :wizard: mid-day and it was hard because of the show schedule. We ended up wishing that we hadn' t done that. We only got to see a few things because of the schedules and missed many things we wanted to see. It was hard to plan because we didn't have the times before we came in the gates. Even the charaters are on schedules here. I wouldn't recommend MGM for a half day unless seeing "it all" is not important to you. I would do MK as a starter or even epcot WS taking it easy and getting some good food. JMO :goodvibes

It depends on what you consider "mid-day". Noon? 1pm? 3pm? The best attractions for afternoon (meaning least amount of wait) would be Backlot Tour, Lights Motors Action, Muppetvision, Magic of Disney Animation or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

I am in the same situation, I am planning on going to MGM on our first day there. We are actually arriving the night before but our flight is not getting in until 11:00pm. So the next morning we hopefully will sleep a little later and then go to MGM.

Here's what I am thinking:
1. See the Star Wars characters and parade since it will be Star Wars Weekend. (my 6 y/o twin boys are big fans)

2. If there are Fast Passes still available when we arrive maybe get some for a show like LMA or Little Mermaid

3. Watch the Power Rangers mini show on the Streets of America

4. Play on the "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" play area.

5. IF there is a Toy Story character meal started by our trip in June, I will try to either make a late breakfast or a lunch ADR.

I am too concerned about what we see or do b/c we will be going to MGM at park opening on another day. GL

We have almost always done MGM as a half day (usually do morning at AK then afternoon/evening at MGM) and never had a problem seeing/doing everything we wanted to do......

As of right now, I believe the only character meal will be breakfast.

Thanks for your post. I know the rumor of a breakfast but I have seen some rumors that it might possibly be a lunch too. I was just saying IF it was available when we are there, I would consider it. :) BUT if the char meal gets delayed again by even a few days after the reported June 4th date, I will miss it anyway.

I'm an Unofficial Guide fan & have had great luck with their touring plans on the website touringplans.com you can get a plan for late day arrival with or without kids. Some of the plans are free, but for others you pay 6.95 for a years membership.
