MGM, December & Pop

I've been reading that they close MGM Studios early one night in December for the pop warner & cheerleaders. Does anyone know what day that usually is? Why I ask is that I had planned on going to MGM for dinner, Fantasmic & the Osbourne Lights on the Friday night that is at the end of the competitions (12/9), but was wondering if that's the night they close early for them. Can anyone help me with this one?

I was there last year on the Friday evening they closed the park for them an hour earlier than usual. It was December 10th. I have to say it didn't really bother me. It was our first night and we had had an early flight in the morning. I didn't plan on doing Fantasmic, so we just walked through the lights. We were able to do the major attractions and walk into Prime Time for dinner without a PS. To me, crowds were managable through the lights. Since I am not with Pop Warner, I can't tell you if this Dec 9th is their Friday, but it seems like it could easily be it. I'm sure someone else will have better information for you. Have fun!!

I just changed my trip (yet again). I was supposed to fly down late Thursday night, but changed it to flying out on Thursday morning instead. I was thinking of doing MGM on Friday night, as there will be a MVMCP at the MK, but if they close MGM early that night, I'll go Thursday night instead.

We have MGM planned for the 9th as well....so, if they close an hour early at say, 7pm, that's still dark enough for Fantasmic....do they not show it at all on this night?
