MGM counter service suggestions?

We have been to MGM many, many times and quite frankly have not found a must-have counter service spot here. We have our favs at the other three parks but not the studios. Do any of you have favorites at this park and what are they? I am particularly interested in a good, quick lunch spot. I hope you all have some good suggestions! :goodvibes

Our kids like Pizza Planet! But I usually just get a salad if we go there.

My wife and I found some ok food at the counter service places along the road headed back to ToT and RnRC. We had to stop at a couple of them to get a meal, but it was "ok".

LOL - I agree with the boat to Epcot. :rolleyes1

If I had to make a choice it would be ABC Commisary - the one and ONLY reason I would suggest this one would be because it is air conditioned inside. :rotfl2:

I like the idea of the boat to Epcot, too!
On the other hand, we have eaten at the ABC Com. on several occasions. As you say, the one plus was the air conditioning!

I have never had a good CS meal at MGM. We usually just have TS meals there or go to the Boardwalk or Epcot to eat.

I have been reading good things about a new MGM CS restaurant, Studio Catering Company. I've haven't been there myself yet, but many people seem to like it.

Oddly enough, we are not fans of any of the TS dining at MGM, but are quite happy with the CS. No, Pizza Planet is not as good as Pizza Hut, but it's ok. Yes, we love Backlot Express and Rosie's All American. We have had mixed experiences at ABC, but then again, it was way better than our 50's PrimeTime experience. Gabby is a really picky eater, so finding the right meal here is always a challenge. Unless they change out their offerings, we will continue to stick with the CS offerings at MGM.

But, you know, breakfast is the meal that we like best here. Arrive early, ride ToT and RnR first and then there is nothing better than going down to KRNR Station Smoothies and grabbing a fresh fruit smoothie and then walking back up to Starring Rolls pick our some sinfully good pastry. It may not be the best breakfast meal ever, but man it's good. Maggie

I like Pizza Planet. :)

But I despise ABC Commissary - tried it twice, both times yuck, yuck, yuck. Worst CS in WDW IMHO. ;)

It seems that I remember someone mentioning on another post one time about Starring Rolls having some decent sandwiches. Has anyone had any experience with this? I know that SR has superb goodies but have never had any experience with sandwiches and such. Anyone?
