The last full day we were at WDW (June 22nd) one of the CM told us that there was going to be a new character performance in front of the hat at MGM. We weren't able to stay to watch it at the first show at noon (it rained anyway). It was suppose to take place every hour.

Has anyone seen it yet? How was it in comparison to Cinderella's Celebration at MK?

I think this is a good reason for us to go back

:p

I agree, EEyorelover22, going back to WDW soon is the only sensible thing to do in a situation like this ;)

I haven't seen it but I'm looking forward to seeing it in August. Thanks for the head's up :)

What characters are in this performance? Any other tips to see it?

The CM didn't know who was in it as it was the first day. The first day was Sunday, June 22nd and it was suppose to run every hour starting at noon...not sure till what time though. I am not even sure it actually went on at all that day as it did rain most of the day till nearly 3:00. It was pretty steady most of that day from 9 am. They said it would be similar to the Cinderella one at Magic Kingdom. I am hoping that when someone returns they can let me know how it was. The Cinderella one is very good. We enjoyed it a lot. We finally were able to see it one morning when it wasn't raining. We also saw the parade at MK our last day and it stopped raining long enough to see that as well.

Some advice for those going soon...if you really want to see a show, parade, do it the first chance when it's not raining as you might not see it again because of the rain. We went back to parks, but we did see all the parades, Fantasmic and Spectro Magic and FITS. Tinker Bell didn't fly the first night. We went back. The 3 CM I asked all said 100% she would fly after they looked up at the castle.

Anyone know how they knew??? Just curious.

I also asked about Spectro Magic for Sunday which is the next week of schedules that come out and the parades, fireworks, etc are not for sure until they are in print regardless of what the website says. For that reason, we did Spectro on Saturday in case it didn't go off on the next night Sunday. Hope that made sense.

forgot one thing...
the performance at MGM was to be by the hat. The CM at the pin station were a bit concerned about the people buying pins inside when the performance was going on!

From what I've heard, the new character performence will occour a couple times throughout the day. A soundtrack will start playing and the characters will come out and do a quick performence (no choreography or anything, just they waving I supose). At the end of their set, they another musical queue will start, they'll all gather in front of the Hat, wave "goodbye" and leave. It's supose to be more similar to the greeting that currently occour at the Character Bus at EPCOT and after Cinderella's Surprise Celebration at MK.
