Our DD is 4yrs old and this is our first trip to the park. As I plan out all the must see things I don't come up with a lot at MGM. I'm allready thinking it will be our least favorite. The only things we have on our list are:

Playhouse Disney
Beauty & Beast
Little Mermaid
Honey I shrunk the kids playground
Narnia exhibit

These are maybe's but I think they will be too intense for my little one.

Indiana
Movie Ride
Backlot Tour

Do you think if we only do the things listed above and get the show times to work out we could do MGM in half a day and head back to MK??? Is it realistic??

Thanks for any magical tips :wizard:

When my DD was there at just turned 3 and again at almost 4 she took Indiana Jones, The Great Movie Ride, and the Backlot Tour all in stride and didn't have any problem on any. She tends to be on the brave side, so YMMV.

I think you can easily do 1/2 day with just the things you listed if the show times work out. Your DD may like to watch some of the street performers as well. And of course, there are plenty of familiar characters around for autographs...don't miss JoJo and Goliath, the Monsters Inc. folks and the Toy Story characters among others.

Don't forget the Parade. It is one of my DS8 (but 4 when we first took him) & DD5 favorties.

Our DDs were 2 and 4 when we went in May and MGM was great - it was much more relaxing, and laid back than MK for us. They enjoyed all of the shows and the parade was the best that we saw the entire time at WDW. We did all the shows DD4 and DH did Star Tours and DD4 and I were going th do ToT until some teenage girls scared her in line- but we really enjoyed our day there.

MGM is my least favorite park with small kids. My dd was able to ride Tower of Terror at 4. It is her favorite ride, therefore we always go there at least once. (Took our 3 year old on TOT last summer, not a good idea! Although this fall when dh took him for 2 days he requested to ride that first! LOL!)

Anyway we have only ever been able to make the show times once and it required us to RUN around the park and even then we barely made it. Usually we feel like we spend 1/2 the day just waiting for shows. That has gotten better now that my son can ride the 40 inch rides, but if you are with a kid under 40 inches it is a very boring day for them.
