MGM access?

We stayed at the Swan last year and I think that I remember there being boat access to MGM (or walking access?) We already have a trip to SSR in May, but if there is "back door" access to MGM via. BWV, I'd like to pay cash for the weekend prior so we can do the whole Star Wars thing and not get caught in the horrible traffic.

There's both boat and walking access to MGM from BWV. The boat will stop at the Swan & Dolphin before heading over to MGM. The walkway from BWV to MGM follows the canal and takes about 10-20 minutes.

Thanks!! Last year the traffic was backed up soooooo far and the bus driver said that long waits are typical during Star Wars weekends. "Back door" access that weekend will be perfect for DS!!

we road the boat over to MGM from the BW last JUN...just make sure that you get on the right boat! there are 2 lines at the BW boat docks - one that takes you directly to Epcot, the other to MGM - w/the stop at Swan & Dolphin along the way. if you plan to go to MGM but get on the wrong boat.....well......you'll have a nice, long, scenic trip around Crystal Lake!

just so everyone knows the boat dock at BWV has 2 lines and both are clearly marked. looking at lake it's left side ramp to MGM and right side ramp to Epcot.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen people in 1 line but wanting the other. Just read the signs and all is OK.

Now if you get on at BWV it does stop at S/D but not before it stops at YC/BC first. So it is quicker to walk then boat to MGM.

It should be noted that this is not really any form of "backdoor" access like at Epcot. You still go in the same gate as everyone who arrives by car or bus.
