Mexican Riviera Cruise 03/27/2011

Goodness! what a quiet group we are. Thought I would give us a bit of a bump.

So, we are still trying to decide where to stay in the San Pedro area the night before the cruise. Where are all of you staying? I think we have it narrowed to the 2 main hotels recommended in San Pedro (the names escape me at the moment ). We are also discussing staying a couple of days post cruise in the Anaheim area since I have family there and the kids don't go back to school until Wed. after the cruise.

We're going to stay at one of the hotels that will let us park the car there while we are on the boat. I think the Doubletree is the one we are leaning towards, but I'm guessing based upon memory.

We're also hoping others will join our cruise as well. Things have been too quiet and we're almost at 6 months out.

We'll have to depart right after the cruise as the kids will be back in school that monday.

Hi everyone! We'll be on this cruise too - our first Disney Cruise!! Please add us to the list DH Bryce (48), DD Hannah (12) and DS Skyler (6), and me Lori (46). Room #1076.

We live in northern California but visit Disneyland Resort several times a year.

Has anyone started the Fish Extender list (I've seen this on other threads and think it's a marvelous idea!)?

Can't wait to meet everyone!

thanks for the welcome. I did a lot of research before deciding which cruise to book. Now that I've booked it I am and I continue to find out more about DCL I am very glad I booked them.

Basketrn- I see you're in the same boat as we are with a 2 and a 14 year old...have you taken your younger one on any of your previous cruises? How'd that work out?

yes..we took our first disney cruise when he was 8 months old. I was great. Although I think this age will be more fun. He will be able to enjoy flounders more now. And he isn't on such a rigid sleep, eat pattern like he was at 8 months.

have you looked at the shore excursions yet? I am finding it difficult to find anything that we can do as a family with such a age spread.

I think we are going to fly in on the 23rd, stay that night at a hotel around LAX, then we have made reservations at the Grand Californian for the 24-27th. We are going to do a couple days at Disneyland since we have never been to California!

We participated (I actually coordinated) our last cruises fish extender exchange. It was a lot of work but really fun! I don't think anyone has started a exchange yet in our group.

Thank you!

My DH is Jeremy and DS (14) is Zach and DS (2) is Keegan.

We are from Avon, IN.

Would love to participate in a fish extender exchange. I don't know my cabin number off hand at the moment but when it gets closer I will let you know.

Dawn

Hi Dawn, I updated your details - thank you!!

I see that you've cruised in the past - do you have any good ideas for organizing the Fish Extender exchange? You can send me a message rather than posting here if you like.

Thanks! Lori

We'll be joining you:

Jeff
Christina
William (2)

Be aware, our last Disney cruise was the one that got stuck overnight at Castaway Cay. An extra day of vacation was real rough. :cool1: Who knows what will happen this time. ???

We might be up for Fish Extenders.

Welcome aboard Jeff, Christina and William!

This is our first Disney Cruise and an extra day wouldn't be horrible - anything that will keep us celebrating the Disney magic - I'm all for!!

I've added your info to the list! Thanks! Lori

If you'd like to add your home state/city, and cabin number, and want to be included on a Fish Extender (FE) exchange, let me know.

We live in the Los Angeles area. So, I'm happy to help if anyone has any LA or Disneyland questions.

Our cabin # is 6534.

Anyone decide on their shore excursions?

I am going to make my final list today of wants.

Hi all, we will be also be going on cruise for first time March 27th. Unfortunately the hubby has to stay home so it will be just us girls but what is this fish extender a few of you have referred to?:

Outside of each stateroom is a silver fish (used to hold messages). A fish extender is a piece of fabric with pockets that you make/buy and can hang from the fish. If you want to participate in FE, you give and receive small gifts in the pockets of the FE--handmade or purchased. We can set it up however we want: Each participant gives one gift per stateroom per cruise OR one gift per stateroom multiple times per cruise, etc.

Thanks, that sounds like fun. I'll check back later to see if anyone will be doing this.

Search fish extender in the search option..there are a TON of threads about this. I did it on my last cruise and it was great!!

144 days left till our cruise!!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::boat:
