Well everyone...we changed our cruise and are now going to go on the dream at the same time. I hope everyone has a great time on their MR cruise!!

HI EVERYONE!
Put us on the list, we've booked to go! It will be our first Disney cruise. My DH & I have been on 2 cruises by ourselves (RC & Carnvl), & one short one with our kids (Prncss). This is a total surprise to our kids, they have no clue yet! So any of you who have DCL'd before, give us all the tips you can!
We are VERY excited, and hope to meet lots of you.

Aloooha!

Short time reader of the boards, and first time poster!

I wanted to say hello to my fellow shipmates. This will be our first Disney cruise for my wife and I. No kids...yet.

Maybe we'll see some of you at WaveBands. I play a decent game of Name that Tune.
:cool1:

Hello Disney Honu! We hope to meet you guys too. :) There hasn't been much activity on our cruise thread in a while, so hoping it'll pick up again. Can't wait, it's getting closer!!

Hi CalDisFans,

Nice to hear from you!

You wouldn't happen to live in California or know anything about the San Pedro area? I'm thinking about reserving a room at the Sunrise hotel. Searching through some old posts, it didn't seem too recommended. However our plane comes in late the prior night.

Any thoughts?

Aloha to you! :cool2:
Yes, we are from California, we live about 50 min from the cruiseport. In San Pedro, there are a couple other hotels too. One is the Crown Plaza. It might run you between 100-199, but is only 3-4 blocks from the cruiseport, and have free parking for the length of your cruise, and I think free shuttle to the cruise ship. The other is the Vagabond Hotel in San Pedro. They are not as nice as the Crown, but affordable, at about $109, with free small breakfast, free shuttle to the ship, free cruise length parking. They are about 1 mile from the cruiseport. There is also the Clarion & Doubletree in San Pedro. I hope that helps! Have you cruised before?
If anyone has any handy tips to give us, feel free to give us some! We have our DS16, DD13, & DGS6 on this cruise, and want to make sure we bring all we need, to be organized, prepared, and anything that will be handy in helping us have a fun cruise. I know about bringing bottled water, but what else for a Disney Cruise? Has anyone else been on the Disney Mexican Riviera a few years ago that could suggest the best activities in each port? We're so excited for it!

I like the $109 option. Thank you for the suggestion.

My wife and I took a HAL Alaskan cruise a couple of years ago. One of the things I remember is that we had an inside cabin and there was a window curtain covering an empty wall. :lmao:

Haha! That's funny. Will you be getting the faux or real window this time? I've read so many different "tips" from this discussion forum, I'm trying to pinpoint down what would be the most important ones for this Mexican Riviera cruise. Are you guys doing any port excursions? Only 3 more months!

Becky (DW), DH, DS 16, DD 13, DGS 6

Just booked Palo and excursions. Wahoo!!! Time to go to bed and dream of magical things.

(First timers, you aren't able to book this stuff quite yet. So, don't go all crazy trying. We promise we left some good stuff open for you.)

Good to hear, jrask. I don't think I can book anything until January 11th.

CalDisfans, we hope we get a real one this time. :) Right now, we have GTY 11C. If there isn't any luck on the complimentary upgrades, then we'll try to buy one at the port.

Are you guys doing any port excursions?
I'm not sure. Just staying on the ship is a strong possibility for us. I probably watched too many scary movies about American tourists.

Oh, can anyone confirm that nights 2, 4, and 6 are the formal, pirate night, and the semi-formal?

Thanks.

That is what people are talking about. We will have more definitive info once people return from MR cruises and post Navigators.

Thanks JRask & Honu. Is someone now keeping a list of those participating in Fish Extenders? We might consider it. :)
We are category 9B, #'s 2590 & I believe 2592. (Whichever are right next to eachother!) I saw commenting about complementary upgrades. Where & when can you get those?
Another query, when we are able to go online and book excursions/spa treatments, will it list spa prices or packages? And, has anyone whos cruised DCL before on Wonder, gotten the fridge offered for meds to keep cold, and how big are they? Do they take up too much space?
Can't wait! :woohoo:

Disney encourages us to buy upgrades first before giving them away, so upgrades are sort of like gifts from Disney. They are few and far between and are given out after the final payment deadline and all the GTYs assigned.

I just booked Palo today.:banana: The prices for all the excursions and spa treatments, along with the description will be listed when you are able to book.

There is a small refrigerator in each room that keeps things a little cooler than room temp. You can requested a separate refrigerator for medications but I am not sure how big it is.

We have been on the MR cruise twice before. Pirate Night was held on the day that we are in Puerto Vallarta, which in our case is Day 4.

From my understanding (and please someone correct me if I'm wrong), if a person does a GTY reservation, they are guaranteed that category or above. So, if the cruise line wants to make more of the less expensive rooms available for later sales, they may upgrade the GTY people of the less expensive category after they paid in full. A person can find out if they are successful by logging their reservation number in the Disney Cruise website.

If that doesn't work, then there is a chance to buy an upgrade at check-in for a reduced price. If that doesn't work, then it's a 11C cabin for me.

Thanks Betty & Honu for that info. I will be checking reservations regularly, and can't wait t book the Spa/Palo/ & Port Adventures! :thumbsup2 You sound like a pro Betty, and more tips you or anyone else could give? :yay: I'm trying to fiigure out how to get some of the printouts to attach to magnets, from the several DCL people on here who do them. :)
