The suspense of what the shore excursions will be for next year is killing me! So of course I'm looking into independent things I can do.

One that caught my attention is www.wideopencabo.com where you are in an off road race car for $225. It looks like something my husband would love. Anyone done this?

Or anyone know of a jeep/dune buggy type tour that is offered where we could drive ourselves?

Thanks,
Brenda

This does look like a lot of fun; however, it's for 4 days. Here is a link for ATV tours. Haven't tried them but it's a start: http://www.loscabosguide.com/activity/despark.htm. HTH

We did the Dune Buggie tour in Cozumel last MArch and had a blast. Can't of course, tell you about those in Cabo, but I would imagine they are even better as that's where they have many baja races and dune buggie trails! It sounds like a great time. If we had as much fun riding along the trails in Cozumel as we did, I can just imagine what riding on the dunes in Baja wouldbe like!!!! I'm jealous. BOOK SOMETHING!!! ENJOY!!!!!

Actually they have something called a "test track" too at Wide Open Cabo. It's 1,500 acres and a racing facility. You drive a Chenowth off-road race car,

It's $225 per person. A professional driver takes you out on the course and teaches you how to do jumps, cornering, etc.

I'm not clear on how long of an experience it is though. One reviewer mentioned doing 7 laps and then changing positions with his wife while she did 7 so I'm not sure if it's just go as long as you want?

Anyway, it's the speedy thrill that would be appealing. Many of the other ATV tours I've looked at mention that they have to keep their speeds a little slower.

I would have tried this in Cozumel if the Magic wasn't dry docked in October, darn!

I am glas you threw this back up there because I just found the ATV tour and it looks fun! I think we might do this. Just wish DCL would put out their excursion lists earlier.

I have been reading the threads on cruisecritic.com to get info on the Mexican Riviera. There are many threads there that give info on the ATV excursions...they do sound fun :D

Would you please post information on the Dune Buggie tour? I've looked  and cannot seem to find anything on it. My family was really looking forward to the Canopy Tour and it seems the age difference for the Disney tour is 12 or 13 min. and my son is 8. I did notice that Shore Trips offers the same thing with minimum age 6. Does anyone know why the age difference is so big? ALSO, Does anyone know whether or not we can rent Jetski's in Cabo and Where? THANKS!!!

I hate to have so many questions, but I have so many questions ....
