Is there a restaurant in the Mexican Pavillion? DH really likes Mexican food and as far as I recall there is a counter sevice spot but no table service. Am I right?
Thanks

There is a ts meal in the mexican pavillion. It is San Angel Inn, we ate there in Sept.

We ate there in Sept as well. Loved the service, atmosphere, chips/salsa and Sangria. Not so crazy about the menu/food though.

I'm glad we went there once, but unless there is a major menu change, will probably pass on it in future.

the setting is way cool, kinda dark, a view of an Aztec style pyramid, the boats for the ride float by near you.

Keep in mind the difference between Mexican food (not normally "spicy") and Tex-Mex (spicy). If your DH likes spicy Tex-Mex he'll probably be a bit disappointed by San Angel. If you like more mild Mexican then go for it. Can't be the atmosphere. You can't eat atmosphere, but in San Angel you can at least nibble on it.

Cool..thanks for the replies!! I think that he will love it bythe looks of the menu!

The ambiance is the closest thing you can get to the Blue Bayou at DLR in WDW.

Agree. Not much a fan of the food. But, will always say it has the most beautiful ambience.

Nasty, nasty, nasty! We have tried it three different times and couldn't eat our food any time. Some people will say, people that don't like it are just used to Tex Mex. I live in east Texas where there are lots of Tex Mex restaurants, as well as mom and pop "real Mexican food" restaurants. San Angel Inn is neither. It's just plain nasty. The second time we went there our food actually came out cold and greasy.

I went there a couple or years ago and really liked it! I live in So Cal with lots of Mexican restaurants around and found it to be very tasty. They just don't have a lot of options, so some people don't find things they like!

The atmosphere is great!!

I have been a few times and mostly go for the ambience. It is unbeatable as far as the scenery surrounding you while you eat. It is so romantic.

The food isnt too bad either. I have had mexican meals there, which have been good and the last time had a steak, which was very good.

No complaints here. We ditched mexico last trip to do the italian sit down restaurant. While that was nice and the food was good it lacked the ambience that Mexico had.

I would give it a try, see what you think.

If it is just the food you want, then hit the outside counterservice for a mexican meal. The food is kind of close to what you will get inside and you get to sit right by the water. Plus they have the multi colored margarita :thumbsup2 . Just be careful because on a really hot day it goes right to your head

The food is great, if you like real mexican food, this is not Taco Bell, heck it's not your typical Mexican restaurant, even that you find here in L.A., it is a lot more authentic, although it has a fair mix of the different areas of Mexico, now the CS in Mexico is a lot closer to Taco Bell in my opinion. The atmosphere is great as well, it can be a little noisy at times, but great.
