Mets fans, I need help with hotel recommendations!

Hello!

My family and I are considering going to a Mets game this coming weekend, probably the game on Sunday, August 14th. We're coming from PA (so you know who we are cheering for ). Since the game is an afternoon game, we could just drive up for the day - about a 3 1/2 hour drive one way for us) - but we are thinking about staying overnight into Monday and maybe going into the city before we drive home. Where is a good hotel near the ballpark for us to stay? We'd have a car, so we'd need somewhere to park it.

Thanks for your help! We are seasoned visitors to NYC, but this is totally new for us.

My son’s favorite baseball player is Anthony Rizzo. He’s liked him since we took him to his first Cubs game at Wrigley at the age of seven. Funny thing is, we’ve seen him play as a Cub several times, but have yet to see him as a Yankee and we’re only three hours from NYC. Hopefully soon! He’s begging us to take him to the Yankees/Braves series next week, but it doesn’t fit our schedule.

Yankee Stadium is the home field for NYCFC as well. So if you guys want some MLS apparel, you can usually find some there too. Unless you guys are Union fans as well. If so, could you guys loose this weekend so NYC can jump back into first place?
