Hello, both of you. :wave2:

Let me just say, I kindly thank you both for taking the time, to read this post. And, reply back to me . Your comments, and advice, are greatly appreciated. Thanks again. :goodvibes

Now, I understand, you all both know alot about the universal parks. I have gone to universal studios. Several times. But, never IOA. I cannot wait. Ok, my question. Can you please tell me how to use the free lockers that are near the coaster rides. I read several posts about how clueless people are who try to use them. I really dont want to look like a fool, or be clueless. . Especially when I can ask both, of you nice people to tell me how. So, I can then. Stow, what I need to stow, and be off onto the coasters. Speaking of which. Is dueling dragons, very bad? I mean I know I want to go. But, which one would you both, suggest I ride. Since, I am kind of chicken? FIre, or Ice?. Is hulk bad also? I went on my first big coasters last year at Six flags, in NJ. I have to say it was fun, after I got off the rides. But, the closer I get to Oct. I am kind of second guessing the coaster rides in IOA. Especially when I look at how big the hulk loops, and dips look  . Not to mention. the near miss pictures I see of DD. I mean, my mind is telling me. My feet may hit other riders feet. Since I am so tall. Well, enough rambling on about this. I believe I will force myself to go. :earseek: TIA.

It's pretty easy, and while I'm sure you'd love a confirmation from them, I can give you some advice until one of the pro's come around :)
There are onscreen instructions (no need to look like a fool, and either way, we're on vacation, aren't we suppose to look like tourists? :)) .. anywho, you press your finger down on the screen, it will give you a locker number in that section and it "unlocks" that locker. You put your stuff in, i believe it says a time for how long it's free (its been a few months) and you go ride the ride, come back, put your finger on again (and you'd hit the returning to retrieve your belongings button or however it's worded) and it would re-open your locker, the same way as the first time. Make sure you close your locker and hear the locks go. Always double check to make sure it's closed correctly. Any troubles, just ask an attendant, I'm sure he won't mind to help.

The important thing is to make sure you remember your locker number I think most of the problems are to do with people forgetting. The other important thing is to make sure you always use the same finger!!!

Make sure you press GENTLY. The scanners are sensitive, and pressing too hard will cause them to not read. This is a very common problem.

As for forgetting your locker number, don't worry too much. As long as you properly put your items in a locker, the computer will remember your fingerprint. There is an option when retreiving your items if you forget the number. Simply press the "forgot locker number?" button, then scan your finger. Your locker number will then appear onscreen.

Well, I never knew that - that's very helpful to know. The amount of times I forgot my number last year are uncountable. Will remember that option this year - is that true of all the lockers, even the pay ones?

Thank you all so very much for instructing me. Now any advice on the coasters? :sunny:

You'll be fine, never know when you may be back, so enjoy!

. . . and don't forget to press the button to LOCK IT before walking away - I have seen families return to empty lockers because they forgot to press the button and double check to see that it was locked !

Everyone gave you great advice. The lockers will lock after you put your stuff in automatically, if you forget to push the flashing button on the locker. The only problem with forgetting to press your button is it takes several seconds for it to lock automatically and if a thief is watching you walk off, they could open the locker before the automatic locking device kicks in.

Hulk is a very smooth ride although my head does tend to bang around on the restraints. The track on Hulk though is very smooth. Dueling Dragons to me has a more "puke" factor. I can ride it once and be fine but the second time, I feel a little queasy. If you sit near the back on DD, you won't see the "near misses" with the other coaster. I think Ice is a little less jerky but not really much difference in the ride between Fire and Ice, at least not enough that a newbie would notice.

Sorry...I wasn't paying attention. :rotfl:

The advise these guys gave is good and right on the money. Phamton and I have only ridden ROTM together so I don't know how she'll act on Hulk and DD! :rotfl2:

Hulk is very smooth with the launch..towards the end there are some turns that make you jerk some. Dueling Dragons..Fire in particular..is my favorite. Many times I gone over there just to ride Fire and then come home. I agree with Phamton about the "puke" factor but it's a great ride. Personally, I like the first two rows of Dueling Dragons the best. I won't ride further back than the second row if at all possible. On Hulk, I ridden in every row and the back is definately more fun than the front..IMHO. Just take a deep breath and get on board..make sure to ride BOTH Fire and Ice since they're both different.

I do very well. :) I just rode Hulk two times in a row on Wednesday and rode DD on both Fire and Ice. I didn't puke once, you'll be glad to know.

That IS good to know. There's nothing I hate more than picking someone's lunch out of my hair!

You are asking alot of me. I honestly am forcing myself to go on the hulk, and dd. I really was only going to go on ice. Because I'm really scared to go in the first place. But, I want to at least say I did it.

Now a different question for you, and phamtom. Dudleys ripsaw falls. I love splash mountain. I do hear that dudley snaps people heads though. Is it that bad? Some family member has neck and back problems TIA :flower:

Snaps peoples heads? Sounds like an exxaggeration (sp?)

The drop is slightly more intense (and lots more fun) than that of Splash Mountain, but if you can handle SM, Dudley shouldn't be a problem.

But remember, the health/safety warning signs are there for a reason.

Never heard of the head snapping. SplashMountain scares me more than Dudley even though the drop is more intense on Dudley. I love Splashmountain but heading down into that briar patch always makes me nervous. It looks more like giant antlers waiting to impale me than a thornbush. Death by antlers just never seemed like a fun way to go for me. Dudley's drop is lots of fun to me.

You shouldn't force yourself into doing anything. I love rollercoasters but some do not. I personally prefer Fire over Ice but that's a preference. If you want to ride Hulk and DD, do it because you really want to.

I haven't heard of any neck snapping. :confused3

I've ridden Ripsaw many times. No neck snapping, just getting DRENCHED. I had never been on a log flume that gets you soaked, but this one does. Just be prepared to get wet -- all of you -- hair, clothes, shoes, etc.
