Metal Cribs in Disney resorts

I've read conflicting things about the availability of metal cribs (instead of pack n plays) in Disney resorts. I've seen some people say they are not available, and other people say they are at select resorts.

Can anyone confirm actually getting one at the Boardwalk? We're going in 10 days, and my 2 yo only sleeps in a crib, and has always refused sleeping in a pnp. Although she sleeps okay on a cot at daycare. We have an inflatable toddler bed that we can bring, but I'm nervous that she won't sleep in it.

Thanks!

Yes I can confirm that for you. I have gotten a metal crib at the Boardwalk Villas on more than one occassion. Call housekeeping once you're in your room and if they have them, they will bring them up. Be sure to specify you want the full size metal crib.

Hi-Yes they do have full size cribs but there are a limited number of them. I would NOT wait until you get there to request one. I would call tomorrow and put the request in as you will have a better chance of getting one. Not many people know about there being full sized cribs so good luck!

I just wanted to say that another option is to rent a crib from A Baby's Best Friend. They will deliver a full size wooden crib with bedding to you at your resort. It's simple to put together and very reasonably priced. That's what we are doing next month.

We have also rented from A Baby's Best Friend. It was a good experience. Everything was clean and delivered right on time. We will use them again.

We ordered one when we booked for our stay but have been told to make sure on check we have got one ! So heres hoping we have as we are there for 2wks & DS will not sleep in PNP for 2 wks as he is to big for one..
Does anyone know what linen you get with them?
We have used abbf in the past, twice & there cribs are indeed fab if we arrive & are not issued or are not happy with crib we will place a request to abbf without hesitating.

Are they really full-sized cribs? I don't recall the one we got at SSR being that long (usually full-sized cribs are 50-55" long). The one we had seemed more like the size of a portable crib (40" long). Then again, it's been a year since we used one, so I could be remembering incorrectly.

Well at SSR all the rooms come equipped with a standard pak n go, but they also say they have full sized cribs (not sure which you had). I know that each resorts seems to have different types of full sized cribs, some have metal ones, other wooden but that they all use crib mattresses so I assume they would be standard sized cribs. I can certainly let you all know what I get at AKV next month (if my request gets honored). I know they asked me what room I wanted to have it set up in so it's not just a pop up type (those they usually have you set up yourself) and I told them to put it in the bedroom so fingers crossed and we'll see what happens. I'll take a picture of it also cause I know I'd love to see what they look like now!

DD wasn't comfy in the pack 'n play, so we called Housekeeping and they brought us a metal crib. It was already set up with a Disney sheet and the Housekeeper wheeled it into our room. It seemed that it didn't take up much more room than the pack 'n play though.

I researched portable cribs last Fall, thinking we would get one to keep at my parents' house and found that they make both compact and full-size portable metal cribs. The compact takes a 3 or 4" mattress while the full-size usually takes a 5 or 6" mattress and they both fold up accordian style so they can be stored more efficiently.

Can't wait to hear back from you after your trip to AKV to see which type WDW uses.
