Messenger type bag with mesh water bottle pockets?

Can you fit a 20oz bottle of soda, or comparable sized water bottle in the Milano? I have Brita fill and go bottles at are about that size too.

Thanks,
Abie
I had mine shipped to my dad's and I'm going to pick it up on the way home from work tomorrow. I'll have a lot more detail (and PICS!) tomorrrow night

That's the Happiest Celebration on Earth DVD next to the bag and a miniDV camcorder down inside of the bag so you can get idea as to the size of this bag. It's smaller than I was expecting but it easily holds 12-oz cans or 16oz water bottles and appears that it would also comfortably hold 20oz plastic bottles (I don't have one handy but I'll test it at work tomorrow ;) )

You can tell it's about the same height as a 16oz bottle of water.

The strap appears to be easily adjustable and the bag itself is very lightweight. I thought the box was empty when I picked it up!

Well, it holds more than it looks like it would. I just brought it in to work with me today and it held the two water bottles and two Healthy Choice frozen meals (easily) and a soft drink can and there was still room for more.

That's a really nice bag!

I'm going to the Eddie Bauer outlet tomorrow. If I don't find something perfect I will be ordering the Milano.

Hello Everyone,

My bag hunt saga has ended. I bought a bag that I really like. I also found a bag that I love dearly that will be mine for my next trip!

I went to the Eddie Bauer outlet today. They had a HUGE assortment of bags. I recommend anyone looking for a good bag to check there. They had lots of great bags in all sizes. Unfortunatly they did not have one that was perfect for my disney trip. I will go back and get some bags to use as purses and such. Really great stuff =)

The bags that were the size I wanted didnt have the water bottle holder. The bigger bag with the water bottle holder was a little too big, plus they had that big messenger bag flap which I don't prefer because you have to lift the flap to get to everything.

I went to another outlet store that carried Jansport. I found a bag that can be worn as a backpack sling, or a messenger bag. It's good sized, has a water bottle pocket, and NO Flap =)

It's the Jansport Astral Courier Bag It was marked at $60 but half off so it was 30 bucks (you can get it online for around 30 too) Do a search for Jansport Astral on froogle =) Most pictures you will see show it stuffed with things. I plan to keep mine lightly packed. Its very light when empty and fits great.

After the outlet mall we went to this little antique store/soda shop/nick nack store. They had a large collection of Vera Bradley bags. This is where I fell in love with the Vera Bradley Carry-All bag. This is perfect. The straps are adjustable and can be worn over the shoulder or across the body (Im a 2x and it fit great) Its the perfect not to big, not too small size. There are 2 outside pockets that can hold water bottles or other stuff. best of all the bag is cotton so its not going to get hot. I love this bag soooooooo much. It comes in so many beautiful patterns. I couldn't justify spending $84 on it right now though and had just bought the Jansport. I would use this bag as an everyday bag but it would be perfect for disney too. If you dont mind the price tag this gets my vote as the #1 theme park touring bag for women.

Thanks everyone for all of your help. I hope this thread will help others in their bag search too.

Glad to see that you had some luck on your hunt!!

Also, thanks for letting us know about the Vera Bradley carryall. I was just wondering the other day if there would be one good for Disney. I like a more "girly" bag from time to time! There is the most beautiful pattern that I am in love with right now.

I didn't read all the posts so maybe this one was mentioned but I just bought it for $15.95:

We had orientation at my DD's college and they had it in the bookstore there. It just screamed to me that it would be perfect for our trip next month. I tried it out at the Champ Car race last weekend and so far, I love it!

Best of luck!

I have the exact bag you described...Overland Equipment Donner Bag. Has two mesh pockets on either side big enough for a 20oz soda bottle...very sleek, not at all clunky...tons of room and and organzier pockets etc. If I weren't such a Coach bag snob ;) I'd use it for my every day handbag! For now it's going to be my honeymoon WDW bag. It's really great. I got it at ebags.com...they were cheapest there. I checked all over the web! Even when you have water bottles in the pockets, the bag is designed in such a way that you can't even see them...allows you to keep the "I'm so cool and sleek" thing going on! ;) It doesn't look all that big, but it's very deceiving. Mine holds my passporter, a pair of flip flops, two ponchos, little shammie towels and other odds and ends, and that is just in the main compartment. It also has an organizer front flap so you don't need a wallet. And it has a special sunglasses pouch! Very cool!

good luck!!!

I have this bag too and LOVE it! Cute, comfy to wear, holds a lot more than it looks like it can, and is well organized, like littleladykaty said. The side water bottle pockets (which are mesh material on the bottom) holds my Nalgene 24oz water bottle w/o any problem:

If there's an REI close by, you can check them out IRL before buying.

CongratsAbie on finding a 'good' bag - hope you can get you're 'GREAT' bag soon too!!! I checked out that Jansport online - I like it a lot....might be on my next-to-get list!!
