Meryll83's SBP/Citrico's/Morocco PJ - Update: Trip Report now underway!!

I had my phone consultation back in November with Rosie, and pretty much chose everything we wanted then.

She mentioned that she had to prepare the cost break downs for some sooner weddings, but that she would put together a costing for me when those were done.

Do you think I should chase her up on this, or leave it a while longer?
I know our wedding isn't until October, but she implied that we could have our costing within a couple of months, and it'd be nice to check all the pricing to get the definite figures in writing now we're being a bit more conscious with our pennies....

I don't think its wrong to ask for the cost. They know brides need to budget.

I definitely don't think there is any problem with dropping Rosie a note to check about your floral budget. I looked back through my emails and it looks like I received my first one about a month after my planning session which would have been about 9 months before our wedding :thumbsup2

I've sent Rosie and email and am waiting to hear back from her, thanks for the advice :thumbsup2

Speaking of advise....

We have a new addition to the wedding party - Si's brother Adam, and his wife Anna, have their first baby due in April, and they've now ameneded their holiday to a week long trip and are bringing baby, who will be 6 months old at the time.

Sooooo, what do I need to know? Baby counts as an extra guest at the Escape wedding, but that's ok, as there's on 12 of us in total at present. Do I just tell our planner we have an extra guest? I guess at this age they don't need a chair at the ceremony, as they would sit on mum's lap or in their pushchair?

Reception meal, hopefully at Citrico's, do they need a highchair at this age? (I know nothing about babies!!!!) I presume Citrico's can provide this, and that we'll all still be able to squeeze into the Chef's Domaine?

Dessert party, again I'm presuming mum's lap or pushchair?

I'll let them figure out the rest themselves, flights and hotel stuff and whatnot, but I just wondered if we needed to make any changes to be "baby-friendly" at the wedding.......
Although, somehow!!!, now they've ameneded their holiday, they've ended up on the same flight as others (they were previously on Si's parents flight later in the day) and Virgin want to charge Si's parent like £400 to move to the same flight as all of us, so they're leaving it, so I'm hoping this means we don't have to become babysitters on the plane :scared1:

I'm also afraid it means we're no longer immune to baby crying during the ceremony

I don't know much about babies but I'd think that a 6 month old might find the Fireworks too loud :confused3

Problem solved - get them to buy some baby earmuffs!!!
Not sure if 6 month olds sit in highchairs... i know nothing about babies but i have it worse than you. my new niece or nephew will be 2 months and present throughout our entire day, grrr!!!!

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if they go back to the hotel before the end of the night, so perhaps the fireworks won't be an issue.
I'm wondering about the ceremony though, how to vaguely politely say in advance, if she starts crying can you take her away so you don't ruin our wedding video! :guilty:

Maybe you could have a big sign above the pews saying. "all babies to the back of the church please" ;)

Dessert party booking time at the end of this week, woop woop!

I'll let you know the figures I get when we get booked in, our 8 month mark is Saturday, so hopefully we will get it confirmed early next week and I'll make sure I ask for a confirmed pricing too :thumbsup2

That is great that it is time to book your DP, it has come round really quickly.

Woohoo, we are almost booked for our dessert party!
We get our amended contract on Monday!

We're booking Morocco for now, but our plan has advised that we can check again at 30 days out to see if UK Upper or the French Island Arm are free, and then she will check if we can switch.

We're having:
Chocolate peanut butter marshmallow sqaures
Chocolate fudge brownie
Key West key lime pie
Tiramasu
Cheesecake
Chocolate eclairs
Fruit tarts
And we've been quoted $28pp - very excited we can still have ye olde squares :lovestruc

We've also returned our planning pack, including music choices, I'll be back to tell you about that soon, gotta go get ready for a murder mystery party we're at tonight, but just had to share the good news about dessert!!

Ok so we FINALLY settled on some choices that we think will work with the violin, and we've sent off our planning pack now, so I guess we'll hear back soon if there are any problems with what we've chosen!

Pre-Ceremony, Seating etc
Various Disney Songs - As there's only a small group of us, we're not gonna have any official entrances for most of the bridal party, they can just mingle and get sat down and settled.

Bridesmaids and Bride Entrance
Reflection from Mulan - I figured there was no point having 2 seperate songs, as not enough of them would really get played. I think I'll try and time it so the girls head off first and then I set off on the chorus....

Sand Ceremony
All I Ask of You from Phantom of the Opera

Recessional
All You Need is Love by The Beatles

First Dance
Your Song from Moulin Rouge - if they don't have this version then we'll go with the normal Elton John one...

Cake Cutting / Champagne Celebration
Don't Stop Believing by Journey, followed by Various Disney Songs again until the violinist's time is up (dunno how long they normally stay?)

So not especially traditional at all, but we have to make these choices all over again for our at home ceremony, and they'll mostly be from a CD, so who knows what we'll end up choosing then!!

Love your music choices! Have you had to book a bus to get your party to the dessert party?

Thanks! I'm excited to hear them played now! We've been listening to the Vitamin String Quartet on iTunes, they are awesome and make violins sound cool, I have to remember we only get 1 violinist though. I actually went to look up the price for a quartet in my initial pack from Disney, the price for just a trio scared me enough, so we're going with what we get included!!!

I also might go in hunt of dessert pictures to whet my appetite for the sweet things!!:rotfl:

Our planner gave us 2 options for dessert party transportation for our party size of 13:

A mini-motor coach which holds the entire party- $435.75/5 hours (minimum charter is 5 hours)

Two luxury vans which can hold up to (8) guests each- $120.00/3 hours (minimum charter is 3 hours) ... I have presumed this is 2 x the $120 for the 2 vans.

We've plumped for the two luxury vans both to collect us from the GF after our (hopeful!) meal at 8pm. We then have the option to have one returning guests straight to Pop Century after the dessert party, and the other perhaps can then take others to the Boardwalk for those who may want a couple more drinks before returning to their resort.

We weren't offered the option of walking in from the international gateway with an escort like I know some others have, but this wouldn't really have suited us anyway, as we need to get from the GF to Epcot anyway.

Over the past couple of days I have added some extra bits to the front of our invitations for our at home do.

I just had the hearts and pearl mickeys to begin with, but thought this looked a bit too plain, so I bought some card frames and gold angel hair, stuck it all together, snip snip, and voila!:

I think I'm happy with them now :rotfl:

So now we just need to fill the invitations with something!!

We also got our BEO already from our planner, and all looks well on the budget front! We're having a phone call on Tuesday to go through all the paperwork etc, we seem so close to being done already now, it's crazy!!

I'm really starting to get nervous about our ADR though and what we'll do if we find Citrico's Chef's Domaine is already taken!!! Still, almost 5 more months to stew over that scenario!

Love them Meryl! They are very individual! Also your PJ - has let me into wanting a dessert party for my wedding hehe!:)

Hey you, a word please?!

NOW I WANT A DESSERT PARTY!! It seems very reasonable on the cost front so may have to talk to Disney about it.

What time does everyone have to be there? We are having dinner at Le Cellier at 6.30pm so it would be great if we could mooch over to the dessert party afterwards.
