Merrytime Cruises, When Do They Typically Start?

We are looking at an early November 2018 cruise. I note the cruise right after the one we're looking at starts the Merrytime cruises. I'm surprised bc ours is more pricey (I'm guessing bc of Jersey Week) than the first Merrytime one (and kind of disappointed ). When exactly or how exactly do they start decorating? How do they time it with dismantling the Halloween decorations? Just wondering how all this is timed or happens (besides Disney magic pixiedust:) if anyone might know.

The Halloween decorations come down immediately following Halloween. I believe this year there was one cruise between the last Halloween cruise and the first Very MerryTime cruise. The majority of the Christmas decorations will be up in that one night/morning debarkation/embarkation day. Then, what ever was missed will be added as they can.

I guess we'd be looking at that one cruise in between. Darn. Can't believe the price is higher than the first Merrytime. Bummer.

I'm not certain that there is always that non-themed cruise between Halloween & Christmas. It probably depends on when Halloween and Christmas actually fall each year.

There have been times when the Halloween decorations were coming down the same time the Christmas ones were going up on debarkation/embarkation day.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll sneak in a few to get an early jump on decorating. :) But I won't count on it. :santa:

Two contracts I worked Halloween came down and Merry time came down/went up in those three hours between cruises.
One contract there was a cruise in between.

I think it depends on ship/itinerary as they bring in teams from shoreside to do it all. The two when it was all done on one day the ship wasn't going out of Port Canaveral.

I think I have read that, sometimes, they do start putting up the big gingerbread house onboard on the cruise before.

Can't decide if that would be lucky or if that would make us regret not booking a Merrytime! :scratchin Always a next time (hopefully!)!

Wow! I was guessing they'd have to outsource it. Yes, this will be the Magic out of NYC.

I left work at 1am and there was a pumpkin tree. I went back to work at 11.30am and there was an (undecorated) christmas tree. But it took me almost the whole day to realise...
Is that one that stops at Port Canaveral? If so, Im not sure if that would make a difference in any way. As in, they would work a way to get it done while at PC rather than shipping the team and everything to NY...

Ah, yes. So when we stop at PC, they'll pick it all up and on the next turnaround day in NYC, they'll decorate? Or no? Hmm... maybe it'll be a surprise when we get back on that night? (I still won't count on it, but how cool would that be!?)

From my past experience, I would think that its more likely you'll get something when you get back onboard (There's no where really onboard to store it, and it makes most sense to just do it all then with pretty much all guests off and not be as rushed as an embark).
Don't get your hopes up, try and forget about it and if it happens get a surprise when you get onboard. You might be like me, and after a day at WDW not even notice till the next morning...
