Merrytime cruise

We're setup for Dec 23-30 2017 Fantasy cruise. Merrytime here we come! Cant wait - it will be our family's first time away from home for Christmas, DW and I are extremely geeked about this one.

I was going to take myself and my parents on that one so we could be with my sister, but she doesn't know if she can extend her contract and she wouldn't know until well after PIF date. Since it would stink for us to be on and not her, I am taking my parents on the Magic in February.

And I am going solo on the fathom Adonia cruise leaving Christmas Day - to Cuba!!! :bounce::bounce::bounce:

I would love to do that cruise but cannot get there in time for sail away. I'm thinking about booking the Magic on 12/24 though.

You will love being away on Christmas. We've spent a few Christmas Eve's and Christmas Days at DL and we love it. Walking up Main St. at 8:00 AM on Christmas is just magical, I love Disney at Christmas. Have a great cruise, it's a double dip right?

Oh my gosh! You guys are living my dream! Are either of you bringing a mini fiber optic tree to decorate your staterooms?
Christmas isn't a religious holiday for us, so going Christmas Day would be just pure magic for me
Waking up on the ship with presents under the mini tree with surprises in the mini stockings!!!! And all day Disney holiday magic!!! I hope you guys write a trip report!

Oh my goodness... yes! I already have my small tree in my bin that I started over a year ago when we booked this cruise! I'll be the one carrying on my own Christmas bin just full of decorations and FE gifts! Lol!! I will definitely write a trip report!

We are on the Fantasy and will be bringing a 7 ft tree with lights - Happy Holidays
We will be on the Fantasy Christmas Day as well. Our cabin isn't big enough for a tree that size! :sad2:

I just ordered the one from their Gift site and it was perfect.

You may want to check with Disney to see if the lights are allowed; "Seasonal and/or celebratory light bulb strings" is listed on their prohibited items list. Even if the tree is one with integrated lights it still likely functions like a light bulb string does (the ones I have seen and the one we have do).

That's going to be fun walking in with a tree! Our room will not be big enough for such a big tree! I'm taking my four feet tree! I can't have my kids see your tree! :-)

We only have a family verandah room - we bought a 7ft slim tree - its perfect as its only the 2 of us so won't use the couch for sleeping or a pull down - it touched the top of the cabin. WE have bought it two years running with integrated lights and no one has said anything. We also bring battery operated lights too just ion case they do mention it we have a back up.

Our first cruise with Disney (this December) will be a Merrytime cruise and we are So. Stoked.

One of the cutest ideas put out in our Fish Extender thread was to do up a Christmas stocking FE.

We're on the Dec. 9th 2017 7 day on the Fantasy!! It can't come fast enough and I wish it wasn't so far away! Thats so awesome you will spend Christmas on the ship!

We did a Merrytime cruise last year and to my best recollection, the music played in the hallways was a mix of holiday and regular Disney music. It wasn't all Christmas. That said, pretty much everywhere you looked in the main areas was decorated for Christmas, so if you reallllly don't want that, I wouldn't take a Merrytime cruise.

Personally, I loved it. I thought the ship was beautiful. The gingerbread house in the lobby smelled divine. The one we made in the gingerbread making class tasted wonderful and made our cabin smell great (before we ate it). We sailed about a week before Christmas and had a small metallic garland tree in our room that sat on the steamer trunk.

We did the cruise right before Christmas last year and this year. Next year we are cruising over Christmas. The reason for our schedule change is next year we wake up to Castaway Cay on Christmas Day!!!! I cannot contain my glee and it is soooo hard to keep these a secret. My kids still believe that our Elf on a Shelf brings the cruises, so it is almost painful to bottle up all my excitement.

We are on this one, too ! 2nd leg of our B2B on the Fantasy :-)

We really enjoy the Merrytime cruises and 2017 cannot come soon enough :-)

Oh awesome!! Man I'm jealous of your b2b!!:love:Maybe one day!! Haha Yes I cant wait!

We decided that it was less expensive to cruise every two years and do a B2B than cruise every year, especially with the low Canadian dollar. Airfare alone is ~CAD$2000 for the two of us, so to have only one airfare cost every two years is a big savings. Add in only one "set" of hotels pre and post cruise, and the $ add up.

Unfortunately, it means waiting two years ! :-(

We have done one B2B so far, 3 and 4 nights on the Dream. The 14 nights on Fantasy will be quite an adventure for us, but we are really looking forward to it.

Love this!

Our first cruise was a Merrytime cruise on the Dream last Dec. 14-18. I don't remember the Christmas music at all. I never noticed it. I love the decorations, but there were plenty of places without decorations. Although it was a Merrytime cruise and we did all the Christmas stuff at Universal before our cruise and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party after our cruise, I kind of forgot it was Christmas. We were just enjoying our vacation so much. I was driving our rental car to one of the parks and they were talking about the last day to shop for Christmas on the radio and I thought, "People are shopping for Christmas? Why?" I really had forgotten when Christmas actually was and was just enjoying all of our fun times without all of the holiday stress.

We'll be on the fantasy this Christmas. I'm so excited. I'm debating whether to order the Christmas decorations for our cabin through the gifts section.

I still need to work out how Santa will deliver gifts.
