Merrytime Cruise vs Regular

Our PAT is noon. I figure we'll probably be onboard around 1 pm and everyone will be hungry. Should I have everyone go eat lunch and I'll go sign-up or can I wait to sign-up after lunch?

We sailed in December (not the week of the holiday) out of Miami last year, we didn't arrive in the port until after 12:30 (ssshhhhh - we flew into FLL that morning). We first went to the bar for the drink of the day. Then we got in line for tickets...not to worry, we had our choice of times...then we went to eat. It doesn't take long at all...

It's a great activity and SO yummy. BTW, I recommend bring a few packaged candies to add to the two types they provide (depending on the level of detail you want).

And don't forget the best extra character meet and greet of all - Santa! We saw him with Dopey a few years ago.

We are going on the Dream in December ( a week before Christmas). Is it too cold in castaway Cay for the kids? I have a 3 year old and a year old.

I believe it depends where you are from: if you are from a warm weather state you may find CC water temps cold...I am from Indiana and thought the water was a tiny bit cold but fine once you got in..
not only will you hear a wide variety of water temp perceptions, the weather on CC can vary a bit...the day we were there (last December 11) the winds were calm and temps were in the 70s (beautiful in the sunshine, nice and warm) but the day before our arrival DCL had been unable to dock because of high winds and rain...

Is there still Pirate Night on the Merrytime cruises? We are sailing Dec 3, 2016 on the Fantasy (7 night).

We were planning on booking that same cruise. Is that a Merrytime cruise? I thought I had looked at the dates and didn't think that fell under the Merrytime cruises.

Yes...Fantasy merrytime starts 11/14 sailing

Is the gingerbread decorating too complicated for a four year old? My 7 year old would love it but not sure about the 4 year old.

This is a adult-led activity as the first steps are assembling the house. Perfect group activity as the parent can place the icing and the children can hold the gingerbread parts in place for a few minutes while it hardens. The decorating (after assembly) is perfect for any age...I would encourage you to bring a package or two of candy for decoration because you only get gum drops and some small colored dots. As a parent of twins (now adults) I predict fighting over the limited decor items (for my kids at least, YMMV)
You'll love it.

It;s one per family but trust me, you won't have time to make two houses...one will consume the time allotted...and, since you need to eat the house or throw it away, you won't want more than one house of delicious yummy gingerbread. Personally, I think to keep twins busy you'll definitely want to bring more decorations...

Do you have to have a child to make a gingerbread house? I've never made one, maybe my husband would help me.

No child required :flower:
