Merry Xmas from AKV - webcam!

I just got my camera set up on the balcony of AKV 5549! We're in the "people pen" section but lots of animal activity in the last few days.

I'm attempting to use UStream to do live video, but we'll see how the bandwidth holds up. We're headed to Epcot today and will check the connection when we return later. Click the link on the page to email me, or PM me here and let me know how the connection is. If it's choppy and bad, I'll switch to the regular recurring webcam pics tomorrow.

I don't see any animals right now.

But it looks like the AK terrain is slightly down-hill on the left this morning.

Maybe all the animals just slid off down to the left side.

I waited until I could see some action in the shot.

Some CM's and a truck finally came into the frame.
The action was very smooth!

A white bird flew through the shot and it was nice, too.

The full-motion software looks good on my end, at least at this time of the morning.

A baby giraffe strolled in about 11:37am EST, ate some food from the box in the center of the screen and strolled out about 11:39am.

I thought the same thing about the screen being black, but it WAS a live feed and I am pretty sure it's dark in Florida now. Just a thought.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! It seems like the streaming worked just fine today, so we'll keep it going. Since it's pitch black and my camera isn't picking up what little activity there is, I've turned it off for the night. (FYI, Andrea, I'm pretty sure that was the case when you looked - if the camera isn't on or isn't getting a feed you'll get the UStream logo with a blue background rather than just black.)

We're headed to early entry at AK tomorrow (7 am) and will fire it up first thing - probably around 6 am. I'll leave it up at least during daylight tomorrow and again Thursday. We check out Friday morning, so you have a couple of days to check it out. Enjoy!
