Shiloh, her parents and many of her relatives live in my hometown, Kennebunk/Kennebunkport, Maine. I had the pleasure of meeting Shiloh quite a few times over the past few years.
Shiloh's aunt owned a dance studio in a nearby town, and my younger daughter took classes there. Shiloh had a lot of cousins that attended the studio, and whenever she was feeling well enough, Shiloh would also attend classes. Teachers readily adapted their lessons to accommodate Shiloh, and she was thrilled to be able to participate.
I can tell you that Shiloh was one of the most amazing little girls I have ever met. She had an astonishing "can-do" attitude and she did NOT believe in focusing on her limitations at all. She had an extremely positive, upbeat outlook on life, and possessed wisdom way beyond her young years.
I can also tell you that Shiloh's parents are just as amazing. They loved Shiloh dearly, and did everything possible to make her life a good one. They cherished each and every day that they were blessed to share with their young daughter.
My heart goes out to the Pepin family.
