Merida vs. Princess Walk

Now that the princesses have moved over by Small World from Fantasy Faire, is Merida still around?
And, if so, does the Merida meet still include all the details, games, and an archery shoot?
Or did the new "Princess Walk" replace most of that?

They are both still there, next to each other. Merida is closer to IASW and the princesses are to the right of her. Merida had Archery going on, not sure what else. We luckily are not at the age of princesses yet, but I watched the lines from IASW.

We've done the princesses before but my little one would love to meet Merida.
And does anyone know what time Merida starts her meet and greet?

Don't know for now but I'm pretty sure lines are long since it's a brand new character to meet.

Your best bet will be to get there early (about 30 minutes before she arrives) so you don't spend two hours waiting for a picture.

A good option would be to do that on a Early Admission day for you'll aready be in the park, be able to enjoy some of the rides and then go make the line for Merida.

We've done the princesses before but my little one would love to meet Merida.

During my visit the week of Aug 20, the lines for Merida were manageable -- not a short wait, but not insane if you really want to see her.

We waited less than 10 minutes for Merida today. And it was basically a walk up when we arrived in the area (about 1hr after true park opening, not EMH opening) but DD HAD to go on IASW first.

The Royal Walk, OTOH, had a pretty decent line going already (we did not do that today). I think people are coming up towards IASW and see the Royal Walk first without even realizing Merida is there too, just slightly around the corner. Today it was Merida meet and greet (with the animatronic triplets as bears) and then you got to shoot a bow and arrow. Then you were handed an small Brave activity/coloring 'booklet' (more of a long foldout) on the way out.

One more questions - Does Merida (and Tangled and Pixie Hollow) open at Park Opening or do they delay them until sometime afterwards?

And I am an adult. HA! I am a goof when it comes to meeting the characters.

They open with the park just went Monday thru Wednesday and met Merida on tues in less than 30 minutes and she sat and talked with me for a good while. Great character

For this week the schedule was as follows (Sept 7-13, 2012):
Park hours:
M-Th: 10a-8p
Fri & Sun: 9a-11p
Sat: 8a-12midnight

Merida:
M-Th: 10a-5p
Fri/Sun: 9a-3p
Sat: 8:30a-3p
(note early closing on Fri-Sun...likely due to the 4pm parade)

Royal Walk:
M-Th: 10:30a-5:30p
Fri-Sun: 9a-5:30p
(notation that it is closed during the parade)

Pixie Hollow:
M-Th: 10a-5p
Fri/Sun: 9a-3:15p
Sat: 8a-3:15pm
(again I assume early closure on Fri-Sun due to parade)

Rapunzel:
11a-5p DAILY

So there doesn't seem to be a straightforward rule as to XX amount of time things open after the park but there is a bit of a pattern....

Sounds like Merida and Pixie Hollow are open first thing so we'll head to Pixie Hollow first and then over to Merida!
We can work on getting to Rapunzel later in the day.
