Called member services to merge a reservation into a single 1 week stay instead of a split stay. They told me it would take a week to 10 days to do. It's already been a week and they haven't merged it yet.
Not a big deal to me, but it makes me wonder if they are still short staffed? They used to do it before you got off the phone with them.

I emailed them a few months ago to merge a stay for me and they completed it in 5 days. Then, a couple weeks ago, I chatted with someone through the chat box and it was done in 4 days. I found the email to be easiest because I was able to write down all my information at once and send to them, as opposed to waiting for the cast member to ask me questions. Good luck!

I’d request again. It took about 4 days last time I needed it done.

Oh? They used to be able the merge the reservation while on the phone!! Not anymore??

No, they put in a request. I think if it is like soon, they may be able to do it but I think they have tried to streamline it since they have so many new CMs and phone wait times are not the best.

The advisor I spoke to said they can only do it over the phone if the arrival is within a week. So I’m assuming reservations further out aren’t considered urgent enough.

Never done a split stay so basic Q: What exactly are you trying to merge? Two different consecutive resort stays under two different reservation #s? What is the advantage of merging? Thanks

They will do it over the phone, just won't happen right away like it used to. The one problem I worry about is if you are trying to get a popular dining reservation towards the end of your stay, you won't get the 60 days plus length of stay unless they are merged. I think it's 60 days?

Sometimes with DVC, you can get a few 1 and 2-day reservations at the same resort for the same room type. Instead of having them be multiple reservations for consecutive nights, they can merge them into a single reservation - that way you don't have to change rooms 4 times at the same resort!! It also helps with ADRs at 60 days out, since it's a single reservation. Does that answer your question?

It depends on how many points I have. Sometimes I will book both of my home resorts right at 11 months for a split stay. Sometime at 7 months I may modify one reservation and just stay the entire time at 1 resort. I book it then I will call member services to merge it into 1 reservation. Sometimes I will do it with a non-home resort and try something different.

I'm waiting on a merge currently too. Seems to be taking a little longer than normal. Assume they're just backed up a bit on requests.

I put through an email request two weeks ago. I got a reply in 24 hours and it was merged in 3 business days. (The trip is in mid March, not sure if that’s considered priority or not.)

I’d email them again just in case, especially if your trip is coming up soon.
