merging old and new photos

I've always wanted to try this. Saw some old B&W postcards in a used bookshop on a quaint mainstreet near my home, might have to pick those up and try them out with this technique.

Wouldn't work so well with WDW but I bet this technique would be very effective with old Disneyland photos. Particularly to show the growth of trees in town square, Adventureland, etc.
