As it gets closer, I'm just FULL of questions ... :)

Do they sell any scrapbooking supplies at the parks? Especially Harry Potter stuff? I don't scrap much anymore, but I do make travel books. Making a family one, small ones for the boys and a tiny one for myself.

Do they have Christmas ornaments for the various on-site hotels? We were so disappointed when we visited WDW in 2013 and couldn't get an Art of Animation ornament to join the resort collection on our tree. I'll probably get a Harry Potter one anyway, but a resort one would be nice.

I will probably take my tremendously geeky officemates some sort of small token. Any suggestions? Something quite cheap I can buy in quantity and distribute. Pens or something, perhaps.

Thanks! I don't know how much shopping time I will get, so targeting it helps. :cool1:

I haven't been to the Christmas store at IOA in a long time so don't know what is there.

if i can find it, there is a link that can help you find specific items in the park.

each onsite hotel has a gift shop, maybe you will find something there for special gifts to take back with you.

i usually do the penny and quarter presses for the impressions of characters, rides, etc to give to friends.

it's cheap and easy to pack in the suitcase....

Cheap items I have given as token gifts: postcards, pressed pennies, key chains, fridge magnets, extra Simpsons napkins (free but we did purchase a meal and had a couple leftover napkins...I did not take 50 napkins, swear! :) ) All these items are 51 cents up to about $5 each

Christmas ornaments are a little hard to come by for Harry Potter I found. The only one I saw was of the train and it was like 25 dollars.

For Christmas ornaments, you might take a good look at the key chains- I've had good luck finding ones I really like then taking most of the chain off, then threading a pretty ribbon through to hang it. There were a couple of HP-themed ornaments in one of the shops in the HP area in January, but I don't remember where.

Co-worker gifts will be even cheaper things. I think for Disney one year I bought a couple packs of themed pens. I'd love to get some for HP and Marvel, maybe.

I do hope they have resort ornaments. Missed that at Disney last time!

They do have Harry Potter ornaments. Saw them in one of the shops as someone else noted above. Don't recall ever seeing ornaments specific to the onsite resorts.

For your scrapbooking idea I bought some Hogwarts Express boarding tickets from a shop in Diagon Alley. I think there were 3 in a pack for about 9.00. They are really nice dream color with gold embossing. I used those in making a photo book for the grandchildren last year.

Mac's idea on the pressed coins is a good one. That's the fun of Perusing the shops is finding the goodies to bring home.

Now for family goodies, interactive wands to use in the Potter parks, chocolate frogs with halogram of the Wizards, Bertie Botts, Potter lanyards, Potter collectible pins for the lanyards, feather lollipops. There is lots to choose from. Have a great time shopping pixiedust:

The wizarding currency from Gringotts is something else that can be put in a scrapbook.

They have some beautiful Harry Potter ornaments; I get a new one every year, they each have a different character on them...but no twins yet :(

They also sell wax seals and stampers. Most of my Harry Potter scrapbook pages, I had to print out pictures to make my own stickers.

Universal doesn't sell scrapbook items, branded as such. However, there is a stationary shop in Diagon Alley that has a few items that work as scrapbook items. I've bought parchment paper that has the Hogwarts crest in the middle, and a Ministry of Magic stamp. They also have stamps of the Hogwarts crests and the 4 House logos. But I think they are $12.95 so it gets pricey to buy them all. You can also repurpose items to use, the candy boxes from Honeydukes or the baggies for the candy have great imagery.

Outside of the parks, shortly after Hogsmeade opened one of the scrapbook companies came out with a line of Harry Potter scrapbook products. I think they are discontinued now, but some stores may have some pieces left, and of course Ebay.

Ornament selection, there are a few Harry Potter ornaments. They tend to be hidden, I seem to find them with the keychains in Filchs. They are mostly House or Hogwarts crests, and they are sort of pricy $24.95ish. Unfortunately, I haven't seen resort ornaments. The hotels are run by Loew's and I can't remember seeing much "resort themed" merchandise at all.

As for gifts for the office mates. My suggestion is that they sell little notepads with the HP House crests on them. 2-pack for $8.95. Might be a little too expensive if you have a lot of co-workers. They also sell 3 packs of slightly larger books for I think $12.95, a set for each House. Stay away from the Memo Books those, they get expensive. And buy some Peppermint Toads and Fudge Flies to share. Here's the link to the Stationary selection online, the Flip Note books are there, but not the larger notebooks.

I get my HP ornaments in the main IoA store near the entrance. They have a HP area in one corner. I think they were about $13 each
