Of the three places mentioned in the subject line, what would you recommend for a night out for a 30 something married couple and their 60ish mother. Thanks.

I don't have any experience with the first two mentioned, but have been to Old Town. It is located next to a Days Inn and and a Checkers Restaurant on 192. Old Town is a small area with stores on each side of a walkway and rides in the front and the back. Personally, I was not impressed. It was rather boring, and the rides were old and rusty. Now, some people love Old Town, so just don't take my word for it. I think they have a weekend night devoted to older cars on display, which many people like. I suppose if you had nothing to do and were close to the area you could spend and hour or so there, but it is not something I would make into a destination, so to speak.

We stayed on Int. Drive two years ago and visited both Pointe Orlando and The Mercado. Point Orlando was on decline then and the only thing that made it different from my local mall was the FAO Schwartz that is now closed. I have read that loads of more stores have closed in Pointe Orlando and it is basically deserted most days. I wasn't highly impressed with the Mercado either but I would suggest it over PO, as I have never visited Old Town.

Enjoy your trip,

Charlie

not impressed with Mercardo and not much to do at the Pointe Orlando
never been to old town

Mercado does have the Titanic Exhibit and the Hard Rock Vault
there is a minature golf on the next corner to the Mercado and on the other side of the Minature golf there is another small strip mall that has a couple of restaurants that always seem to be busy at night.

the Steak house that is at the Mercado seems to be a quite popular place.

THese are just my observations as my parents and I have stayed at the Double tree Castle and the Holiday inn that is directly behind the Mercado (to the left actually)
I have gone wondering at night!!

I've been to all 3. Mercado and Pointe Orlando were ok places to spend an hour or grab a quick bite to eat, but that's about it. And from what I've heard, Pointe Orlando has gone downhill.

We love Old Town. My wife and I are both about 40, DD is 8 and our mothers who often travel with us are 64 and 73. We always have a good time there. There are some fun stores. Some good rides if you are into that. We always do the go-karts and usually a few of the others as well. One time, our hotel deal included free ride tickets so we rode everything that time.

There are also a couple of good places to eat. Flippers Pizza has great pizza and good Italian food.

If you are into antique and classic cars, Old Town has a cruise nite every Friday and Saturday.

I do not like any of the tree places mentioned and recommend that you go to Downtown Disney. It is free and there is so much to do. The Mercado and Pointe Orlando are really run down and dead. Old Town was boring 10 years ago and still is.

Thanks for the heads up on the three places, we will likely stick with DTD and Citywalk....

cheers,
