I'm looking forward to my trip to DL and using this method. Thanks for all the advice. I do have a three questions:

Once you are qualified for a MEP by having a LL during a ride shutdown and it is in your return window, how do you actually get it? Does is show up automatically in your app, do you have to go to the ride and try to scan in the LL, or ?

When you have the MEP and are using it to accelerate a LL, are you going in the LL line for the ride or seeing a cast member at the exit?

Also from what I've read here, at DCA, you can use MEP to accelerate non-LL rides by going to exit and scanning in with cast member, but in DL, this cannot be done anymore, except with maybe Pirates?

Yes, it converts automatically in the app. You will get a notification that a change has been made to your Lightning Lane and another alert when your window opens.

Yes, you will scan the barcode or your MagicBand+ at the LL entrance.

Also from what I've read here, at DCA, you can use MEP to accelerate non-LL rides by going to exit and scanning in with cast member, but in DL, this cannot be done anymore, except with maybe Pirates?

There are different "tiers" of MEP. I'm not up-to-date on all the latest tiers, but once you receive an MEP you will be able to find the list of rides in both parks where it can be redeemed (usually as a link that says "find out where you can go" above the Redeem button). If you are redeeming for a non-LL ride, you have it correct: you can scan in with a CM at the exit of the chosen ride.

Thank you. So once an LL gets into the window of use and the ride is down, it automatically show up in app. Does it say it is a Multiexperience P(can’t recall the rest) so I know what it is?

What do you mean by “another alert when your window opens”? Alert for window opening for MEP? I’m confused.

Yes, it will be listed as "Lightning Lane - Select Experiences."

If a ride is down for an extended period of time, it may convert before your original LL window even opens. For example: you booked Indiana Jones for 9 am-10am. At 8:45, it is converted to an MEP. You'll get an alert at 9 am that your window has opened (can't use the MEP immediately at 8:45).

I think you’re talking about two different things here.

Accelerating is when you hold a MEP and don’t use it. Just having it will allow your regular LLs to scan early. This is not something “official” at all and CMs will have no idea what you’re talking about if you try to get them to tell you about it.

That’s different than USING the MEP, which is what you’re talking about doing at DCA at a non-LL ride. Once you use the MEP, all the other LL will function normally.

Honestly, now that you can modify return times, I don’t find the acceleration bit necessary anymore. YMMV.

If you scan your MEP at a non lightening lane ride, it will use the MEP. Use your MEP to ride an attraction you have a lightening lane for immediately without waiting for the LL time.

Yes.

You can book it right now if the window works for you. FYI, I've often gotten multiple MEP during an extended downtime of one attraction.

Hopefully this clears it up, I don’t accelerate that often so went and found this info in another thread:

The LL otherwise it'll use your MEP. We were using magicbands so didn't use the barcodes. I tried to fish the first weekend of aug but wasn't successful. Was solo and did all I wanted and then some without it though.

Use your park ticket barcode.

Wow. What a day so far. The ticket code is working fine. Did not have to use MEP code.

What I need to know now is what do I do with the TWO MEPS at the end of the day? Should I use them in a special way?

All you can do is use them to ride any qualifying rides, including possibly riding a LL ride again.

That’s interesting. Didn’t realize you can only do a Lightening Lane selection with Genie+ one time per LL ride. Was going to go through a second time, and it said we were not eligible. Oh well.

You can use your MEP to ride again, but you will lose it if you do.

When you finally use the MEP (knowing you will lose it of course), do you use the MEP at the LL entrance like a LL selection, or, as I think I have read here, you use it at the exit by letting the Cast Member scan it there so you fully skip the line.

Just scan it at the LL scanner. If it's not a LL ride, show it to a cast member to scan.

The only case you ever need to go to a cast member to scan a MEP is if there isn’t a LL for the ride. It’s easiest to simply scan your magic band or park ticket. Please don’t ask them about accelerating your LL or this bonus may get closed.
