Help...Does anyone know how to keep a cat from answering and clearing messages from their phone. Yes, my cat, Ashes,answers my phone and erases messages! I was alone and on the computer the other day and all of a sudden I heard my answering machine talking. When I went to the room Ashes was standing there with his paw on the phone. Now I know why some people say they've left messages that I haven't received. That darn cat !!!!!How can I stop him? Any suggestions?

Can you move the phone so he can't step on it? Or maybe find something to place over the buttons. I know there are things to keep babies from getting hurt maybe we need to invent something to keep our furbabies from doing naughty things also.

Can you put the machine in a drawer (that the cat can't open)? Or in a cabinet? That way, you can still easily check it.

What about aluminum foil? Most cats don't seem to like tin foil. That's all I can think of right now, other than moving the phone as others have already suggested. Kathy

If all else fails, you could sign up for VMX through your phone service. Bet the cat would have a hard time figuring that one out. Our cat doesn't like ringing phones. Whenever one rings, he tries to knock it over.
