Menus with no prices?

This is probably an odd question. But i was wondering if Disney's restaurants offer menus without the prices on them? My parents are joining us for part of our trip and we want to take them to WCC after a surprise sleigh/carriage ride. It would be awesome if they had menus without the prices on it so they didn't know what we were spending (I know they'll go for the cheapest food....although none of it's real cheap ;) .....or want to reimburse us)

Anyone know if they have priceless menus?
Thanks :wave2:

don't know... i remember back in the day when women were automatically given the menus w/out prices...

would your parents enjoy the all-you-care-to-eat skillet dinner? perhaps just order that for everyone w/no one getting menus...

I know what you are going through!

When I took my Mom and Dad in Feb05 they always ordered the least expensive thing on the menu - I even tried suggesting things that I thought they would like better (based on reviews on the DIS boards) but it was a no go. My mom always seemed to order the chicken where ever we went (traditionally the least expensive) and my Dad was always on the lookout for a cheap beef dish.

I actually looked forward to the counter service meals we had because I would just go up and order and bring it back to the table (my dad still doesn't realize that the chicken fingers he really liked were around $6 US! he would freak).

I say hype up the skillet meal and don't let them look at the menu.

Thanks for the advice about going for the skillet!
I just need to figure out of they're big pork fans or not. If they do like pork alot, we'll prob do that.
I also had an idea.....if the menu doesn't change that is......I copied and pasted a WCC dinner menu into a word document and I can delete the prices. Maybe I should bring that along, compare the menu and then let them pick off that.

Sure seems like a lot of work to insure they order what they would really like to eat the most. :rotfl:

edited to add: We're not doing the dining plan. We just don't do many big sit down meals and we almost always eat breakfast in our room. But thanks for the idea :wave2:

perhaps you can just bring a bottle of white out and remove the prices from your parents' menus while waiting for your table?!

They still do this at the high end restaurants in Paris. My DH and I were there last December and we ate at Le Cinq at the George V hotel where we were staying. My DH kept talking about prices and kept asking him what he was talking about. We looked and saw that I had been automatically given a menu with NO prices. Made me feel a little special. Too bad we can't request that when we want. It would make treating someone else to dinner a lot easier.

I'd be curious about this for V&As. DH and I would like to take his parents, but they would never enjoy it if they realized how much we were spending on food! :)

Some of the ladies on the Wedding board were saying that they were able to get menus without the prices for their guests. I'm looking into it for my guests, but I haven't got an answer yet.

I'm on the other end of your situation! :) We're going to HDDR and I just realized yesterday that my Mom made the reservation a couple of weeks ago and had to pay for it when she made the reservation. She said she wanted to pay for it and she won't let me pay her back! It's driving me crazy! But I know how you feel, sometimes when I want to take DFi out for dinner he'll order the cheapest thing on the menu because I told him I'm going to pay but when he's paying he'll order the most expensive thing. Maybe you can not tell them you're going to pay for it until the dinner is over and you can always take the server aside and say that you want to pay for it or give them your credit card (or whatever) then. Good luck!!

I can say as one who orders chicken a lot it's usually because I really like chicken

My parents are the same way!! I wish you could get "price optional" menus or regular menus. :teeth: My parents (more so my Dad) would just keep saying how much things cost, like "I can't believe I'm eating a $50 steak. That's crazy." Just eat the steak!!!!!! :rotfl:
