Menus on Disney's website are different...

I've been viewing Disney's website restaurant menus. They are different than here at wdwinfo and allears.net. There were several items that were missing on these menus (that I was looking forward to) but on Disney's they are there! Whew! Anyhoo, just wanted to encourage those of you trying to decide on a restaurant based on the menu to be sure and check Disney's website.

I wouldn't count too heavily on the menus, because the chefs do change them from time to time. Some items are seasonal, and some items stay on the rotation because they might be a signature dish.

If the item you want isn't on the menu when you eat there, I hope you won't be disappointed too much.

When using other sites menus I look at the date.

Disney's own site SHOULD be able to be more current with menus, but as BriarRosie says, restaurants can and do change certain items often. Most WDW menus are printed on paper and often dated, making changes quite easy.

If you look at the menus on the Disney site, you'll see the disclaimer "Menu items and prices are subject to change at any time without notice" on all of them.

This is your cue that Disney might not change their online menus as soon as a restaurant's menu changes, and you may not find the exact same menu or prices when you actually arrive at the restaurant. Online menus are best used as a guideline, not to anticipate the actual offerings at any future time. There's also no guarantee, based on the disclaimer, that the menus on the Disney site are any more recent than those posted on unofficial sites, which are retrived by guests - at least the unofficial sites put dates up.

You could still choose a restaurant based on the menu - you can get a pretty good idea of the type of food served - but it's likely not a good idea to get one's heart irrevocably set on a particular menu item.
