Menu Rotation question

I can make reservations (assuming availability) for my cruise early August and want to make Palo dinner reservations but I don't want to miss the Captains gala. Awhile back I had looked at past navigators and it looked like the Captains gala was always on the last sea day but recent ones show it different. Do they typically change up the menu rotation a lot? I was hoping to do Palo on St Thomas night which is night 5 but looks like the last couple cruises that was when they had captains gala menu. Would you go ahead and book Palo for St Thomas night and hope for the best or move it to a night earlier in the cruise to be safe?

I've actually become a fan of Palo first night on board. The Main Dining rooms are a mess the first night sometimes. Everyone is trying to figure out where they are, meet their server team, etc. So skipping it isn't a big deal. Palo is relaxing by contrast (though you may be spoiled on food after!).

It looks like Captains gala has a high priority for you, so book it earlier in the cruise, and then when you arrive on board the first day, get the week schedule and visit the Palo reservation team to see if they can make any changes or waitlist you.

On our May 26th Western Caribbean on the Fantasy, the Captain's Gala menu was on the 6th night, which was the last sea day. Just make sure you remember that the Captain's Reception is on a different night than the Captain's Gala menu. I never understood why they didn't coordinate those so they were the same night.
