I was wondering, the restaurants in the "countries" such as Le Cellier, Chefs de France, San Angel Inn, do they offer an English description under the foreign name for the dish? I see alot of the menus have names I don't understand. I don't eat pork or beef, and am kind of picky, but I don't want to be one of those people that ask what every single item is on the menu. Can anyone tell me? Thanks

Looks like most of them are explained on the menu pages here.

Le Cellier IS a steakhouse though, so if you don't eat beef, it's probably not the first place I'd think to go. :P

Yes -- English-speakers will feel comfortable ordering in the World Showcase. :thumbsup2

Everything on the Le Cellier menu is written in Canadian!

:)

Hee hee-I have problem cos your menus are written in American English!:lmao: I've already had to ask on here what chipotle, arugula, ancho-rubbed mean! (Not to mention what Twinkies are!) Thankfully you are a pretty patient bunch:grouphug:

I am sure that lots of Americans have to ask that too (well, except about the Twinkies)!

Except for the Twinkies, what you mentioned isn't American English either. It's Food English.

To the OP - yes, everything on the menu is explained and written in English (whatever version). The basic grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a salad on the Chefs de France menu is about a full sentence length. But that's what it is. And they have a mac and cheese entree that you would never know is mac and cheese but the Food English translates to that.

And when in doubt, ask the server.
