DH and I LOVE CG and it's a must do. We have always wnated to try FF, but have a problem. DH does not eat seafood, pork, lamb etc. and the only steak they ever have on the menu is a New York Strip. SInce he only eats filet or hamburger (nothing in between) we have never been able to eat there. Has anyone ever eaten there and been able to order a filet?

Any other suggestions?
Sara

FF has been one of our favorites for quite awhile and they have traditionally always had a charred NY Strip which is EXCELLENT.

Latley though (my last visit in Jan.) the Strip was not on the menu and there was no beef. So my recommendation is to make a PS then make a phone call to check the menu.

One note, it was Chef John who put the Steak on the FF menu and he is now the chef at CG...I am starting to think the CG is starting to resemble the old FF menu more and more.

The only 2 meat dishes that don't include fish that I could
find are:
Char Crusted New York Strip Steak $29
With roasted Yukon gold potatoes, green beans and sauce foyot

Free-Range Chicken Breast $20
With couscous, haricots verts, toasted almonds and cured lemon vinaigrette

We'll give it a shot but my DS also is a filet and burger guy.

I second that the seared NY strip steak at FF is wonderful! The last time I had it was the end of Dec., since then there have been reports that it is no longer on the menu. I sincerely hope this is not true! I would call ahead just to be on the safe side.

My husband is not quite so picky, but doesn't eat fish. I really enjoy fish.

Recently we went to a local restaurant with a similar type menu to FF (lots of seafood, little choices for a guy who doesn't eat fish) for my birthday (I really wanted to try it and wasn't aware the menu was SO limited). He enjoyed it so much (he had chicken) that he's been back twice without me (still doesn't order the fish).

Maybe you could go and hubby could order an appitizer and dessert - or both of you could just go in the afternoon or late for dessert.

Hey Eyesnur, are you sure about Chef John being at CG? I thought I heard he went to Citricos. Just wanting to clarify as CG and FF are my two favorite restaurants. I have not been enthused with Citricos but being that was where I thought Chef John ended up, I was thinking of giving it another try.

If anyone can clarify....please do!

And by the way, another huge FF steak fan here....I hope it still is on the menu.
