Menu Alternatives at Remy?

Does anyone know if there are menu alternatives Remy? My husband really wants to try it this go-round, but I guess you could say I am picky. I don't eat seafood but sometimes enjoy mild, flaky white fish. I do not care for rare meats, duck, or foie gras. It's not for lack of trying...I'm a retired hospitality professional and have experienced lots of fine dining in my life. I'm just not wired for these types of foods. Poultry is usually a safe bet for me, and beef if it's prepared medium. Could I call ahead and request a vegetarian menu? I understand dinner has ala carte offerings, but I still want to be able to enjoy multiple courses like my hubs. Appreciate any tips from Remy pros.

You can definitely request a vegetarian menu, or a menu that avoids certain specific items or categories. My family does not eat meat or shellfish, I don't eat mushrooms, and my husband does not eat bell peppers. Twice, we have stopped by the Remy check-in desk on our first evening onboard to make sure our dietary restrictions are noted on our reservation for our dinner a few nights later, and both times our meals have been wonderful.

Given that you are not sure about a lot of the potential meat dishes, asking for a vegetarian dinner would be a safe bet to get a multi-course experience comparable to what your husband gets from the regular menu.

Just to add for other people reading along.
We went to Remy's with my dh getting the French side along with our friend while I got the American side. Our 4th person was too seasick to join us, but recommended splitting each course so we both get to try everything. I preread the menu at home and said I will not be sharing because the French side had foods I know I wouldn't like. The American side didn't have anything really strange, it was prepared really nicely. I'd say give it a try. I am so glad they knew they would be on their own. They didn't like most of it, too unusual for them, especially the pigeon! The American food was fantastic and so much better than anything I have had. Each course is only about 3-4 bites.
It was a fantastic experience with the attention to detail truly impressive. I am all about saving money, but my friend who was sick had talked me into going by saying I wasn't doing a shore excursion, so use the money from that. I'm so glad I went. I'd go again even with the price being as high as it is. Super great time. I got the French dessert, chocolate, couldn't pass that up.

We are regular attendees at Remy/Enchante and thoroughly enjoy the entire experience. However, I have this ... thing ... about tomatoes. I can't stand them raw, cooked, stewed or any other way, shape or form. Dunno why. I'm sure it's my parents' fault :D. For a few cruises on the Wish class, the second (?) course in Enchante was (drumroll please) Tomatoes served every possible way! Tomato juice, cooked tomatoes, baked tomatoes. Good grief, there were so many types of tomatoes I lost count. The first time, I did the four year old thing and re-arranged my plate and smiled painfully that it was "wonderful". Darn near lost my stomach. We went back on Treasure and I had to be honest. Our server was fabulous, so I told him that I just can't do the tomato course. They whipped out a whole new course for me that was an amazing rockfish concoction. Huge tip. It was our best Remy/Enchante experience to date and we've been a few times (see below).

My point; I was friendly, self-deprecating and up front about my abhorrence of the red vegetable (or is it fruit?). They took care of me.

I have food allergies and cannot eat certain things and I have always been accommodated in the adult dining restaurants. I always go to the check in podium on the first night to let them know what my allergies are so they are noted with enough time for the chef to prepare. I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t do the same for anyone with a food aversion too.

We have done Remy (and Enchante) as vegetarians and have always had a fabulous meal. Just let them know ahead of time. I still dream about the gnocchi we had the last time we sailed.

Also to the PP with the tomatoes -- you'll be so happy to hear that the tomato course was alive and well on our cruise last October in Remy. I also do not generally love tomatoes and was like 'are you kidding me?' when they brought out tomato EVERYTHING. But I'll admit, the weird tomato water has grown on me.

It sounds like I'll be just fine if I request a vegetarian meal. With the bread, butter, cheese course, and dessert, I will be set!

This last time at Enchante, my wife got the vegetarian option while I went for the regular one, and we tasted each other's dishes. I'm nominally a meat eater, but quite honestly I preferred the vegetarian options; I'd highly recommend them over the fish dishes. I never thought I'd enjoy beets as much as I did.

However, the whole experience is almost worth it just for the desserts.
