Men's tall sweater

I am on a hunt to get my dad a Christmas sweater. The problem, he is 6’8” and has a 41 and ¾” sleeve length. I am trying to find something, anything that has close to 40”. He has also lost a lot of weight so he is a Large. An XL is stretching it, but it’ll work. I am coming up with squat! So I am asking the disboarders, where can I find a sweater for my dad? Please help!

Thank you for the suggestion but the sleeve lengths are only 35-36"; he needs a 40" or longer.

My husband is 6'6" and not skin and bones but very fit. He wears an Eddie Bauer XL/T.
He says they(EB) are the only company who understands a regular sized guy who is simply tall. I'd add them to my list for sure.

He only wears short sleeved shirts because he can't find any long sleeved that fit. His dress shirts were all tailored for him. That's how we know his sleeve length. He has gorilla arms!

Unfortunately, it's been a few years since he has purchased a sweater, (which is why I want to get him one). Plus, the last time he got one, he was 2-3 sizes larger (which means larger sleeve lengths available).

Thanks! I'll try finding some of these. The workers at the big and tall stores I went to mentioned trying EB as well.

DH and DFIL are both tall - DH is 6'5" and DFIL is 6'7". I buy them both their shirts, sweaters etc at Eddie Bauer. They have talls in almost everything they carry.

My DH has a 40'' sleeve length. The only Larges that we have found that are long enough in the arms are Banana Republic.

I have the smae issue with dh who is 6'5". I always say he has cro-magnam arems-they are so long his knuckles drag on the ground. Very hard to find long sleeve shirts that are long enough in the sleeve length. I'll check out Eddie Bauer.

Have you tried the JCP catalogue? Ii have to order from tehm for DH becasue they do carry extra tall. Buddy is 6' 6" and I have had luck here.

From what I've seen him try on, everything that Kohls sells as tall is still too short.

I just checked out BR and they say their sleeve lengths are only 36 ½ to 37” I’ll have him try on some of the in-store shirts. Maybe the 36” are looooong inches

That’s where we got him his last sweater, 4-5 years ago. Unfortunately, they’ve shortened their sleeve lengths since then.

I looked at llbean website and they say they're only 36." Unfortunately, the stores are a long ways away so I can't take him in to try stuff on.

What?! You mean you wouldn’t wear a sweater that has light up ornaments and plays jingle bells whenever you move?! Kill-joy!

No, I just meant a sweater because it’s getting colder. Just something simple like a red or blue one.
